Question for the MODS about legal issues and posting

Can I suggest that someone make a sticky explaining the legal risks of membership on this website? If this has already been done, I apologize, I'm still trying to get used to the search. I read one recent forum on the subject, but it was just a bunch of people arguing, and all I really got out of it is that they can bust you if you talk about growing. What about in the drug testing forum? Can you get in trouble for posting a success story for dilution or substitution or for trying to help people with this? Is there a signature you can make to prevent getting into legal trouble? When are you required to give out a member's IP address? I'm from a small town, and the cops here are ridiculous about small stuff, so I would just like someone to settle my mind. Thanks.:)

If you're worried about it, the best idea is to just not post here. I go with the logic that unless you are posting photographs of 1,000 plant operations and regaling the boards with tales of the tens of thousands of dollars you've made growing and selling cannabis on the black merket, you have no reason for alarm. LEOs do come here and poke around I'm sure, but I highly doubt they are going to waste their time tracking down a person posting about the three plants in their basement they are growing for personal use. They are mostly looking for massive operations, but that's not to say if you post your name and location that they won't come get you, but to track you down via some vague info you've posted and an IP would take a lot of leg work that simply wouldn't be worth it for most precincts. Or at least that's how I see it. :jointsmile:

here in the US words are not illegal. we are allowed to read write and say what ever we wish. many times some do say offensive things but that dont mean your not allowed to say it. but as far as posting a paragraph about about the last grow you had , no that is fine. we dont know you neither do the feds you could be just gettin you jollies lyin to us all makin us think your some hot shit grower. photos on the other hand can get you busted.

but when the feds are starting to take notice of you and your activities they will use ALL of your activities to get an arrest warrent. they cannot get an arrest warrent based soley on the fact you are member of a MMJ site, or on the words you write. that would be heresay.

this is a site devoted to medical marijuana and the fight to legalize. there are many here who pain and suffering is eleviated, some who just like to get high, and maybe even a few who dont toke but support the cause. point is this is a discussion nothin wrong with adults discussing any topic.
