I'm sure this has been discussed, but I couldn't find a guaranteed answer (assuming there is one).

I'm 27, and I've been smoking on and off for about 10 years. I'm considering enlisting in the U.S. Army, and they obviously drug test. The urine test I'm not too concerned about, rather the blood test they administer. My question is, how long does marijuana (THC) stay in the blood? Is it dependent on one's weight and metabolism? If so, I'm 140 lbs. and my metabolism is pretty fast.

Thanks in advance.

Blood tests only detect for 3 or 4 days. So if you pass a urine test you'll easily pass a blood test.

Really? Only 3-4 days? Even if I've smoked for almost 10 years? I thought it stayed longer in the blood than in urine. And are all blood tests essentially the same or? This is for the Army and what not.

And this is pretty much for every person?

Nope all drugs disipate in the blood stream in 3 or 4 days. The hair test is the nastiest of the tests. But even it can be beat with some hard work.

Thanks for the reply.

I hope the military doesn't administer drug tests using hair. :wtf:

I've been in the active army for about 2 years and I have never been tested by hair or blood. I've been piss tested 3 times since I've joined, but usually testing goes like this, every month 10% of my unit gets picked at random to piss and every now and then 100% of the unit gets pissed, however even if you get pissed doesn't mean you won't get pissed again the next week. I've seen units piss their whole unit once a week till they felt everyone is clean and their unit is drug free. The problem is you really never know when it's gonna happen.
