I am 10 days into my first grow. I have 6 plants out of the origional 8 seedlings I started with and all look like they are healthy and are going to servive. I have a question about nutrients ???? I have heard the Miracle Grow or Miracle Grow Tomato works good, but what are my other options ???? When do I add these nutrients ???? I am using Miracle Grow Potting Mix from Home Depot, my lighting is a Procyon 100, I have a Vortex 4" fan pulling air from the basement/house thru grow closet to the attic. I do intend to add supplemental (3) 23watt 2700K CFL on top of the Procyon 100 when the last couple of months of flowering has started, but for now, they are off. Thanks

Don't give nutes until after the first month. Sometimes you may not need to give them anything for awhile as they will thrive off what's in the soil first. Also, when you do add nutes for the first time, give them 1/4 to 1/2, but I'd go with 1/4 just to be on the safe side. Also, you can give any type of nutrients you want, but you just have to use it right and flush, flush, flush when needed (specially before harvest). I'm sorry I can't really tell you a specific brand, as I used MG ferts (the all purpose/bloom booster BS) and had pretty good results (my silver haze log in my sig.). It's really what best works with you, if you try different ones you may find one you love, but most people will probably recommend Fox Farm Trio. (http://www.wormsway.com/enlarge.asp?sku=FNT405)

When you say 1/4 to 1/2, what are you refering to ?????? Is it the dilution factor ???? I have read about the flushing out of the plants, esp. just before harvest. But, you mention doing it at other times, what do you mean ? Do you put the MG in, let it sit for a few days and then flush with fresh water ? Would appreciate knowing.......... Thanks

1/4 strength of whatever the recommended dosage is. So if it calls for a teaspoon a gallon, only use a 1/4 teaspoon to the gallon. You can't just go by the full dosage on the packages as to you may and probably will burn up your ladies.
Usually when I water, I give nutes one watering then just plain PH corrected water the next time I water. Also, remember when you transplant that you may not/won't need to give any nutes for a few weeks as your plants roots are being introduced to fresh soil (w/ nutes already in it) so they will use that first. Well unless of course your using a soil less mix as where you add your nutes yourself to the plants needs, but since your using MG you won't need to worry about that.
