Can a male put off a good stinky smell??

i have a plant that is around 6 weeks outside.
its been smelling really good.. topped it twice, looks like it may have preflowers today..

will a male plant put off a really good stinky aroma b4 sexing or pre-flowering takes place?

or can the plant be either male or female at this point..

i know the sex is the 4sure way to tell..

Ya, don't go by smell. While waiting for sex to show, I had four plants in a closet. All four turned out male, but the smell beforehand smelled like straight danksss.
