Hi everyone-i am a complete newbie and am learning everything from scratch here-including how too germinate-(thanks highonamountain, u helped me do this:) )

i now have a 5/6 week old plant that i have been growing in my box, using at first 1 23 watt CLF and now 2 CLFs (a whole 2!!) attempting too use the LST method because of huge space issues (i intend too keep the entire grow in this box!)

i read you can acctualy go 12/12 from seed so about 3 weeks into veg i swopped too 12/12 -my plant has now been in 12/12 for 19 days and is not showing any signes of sex? i read on other topics this could be a light leak problem-i dont think i had any lightleeks but if i did they have been fixed now, i have also bought a timer so my babies get exatcly the right light scedual.

here is my questions-does my plant look satvia dominant? (unknown bagseed of good quality) do these take longer too show sex than indica? also going 12/12 so early in the plants life, does this make it longer too see sex? i just want too check im not doing anything terribly wrong, the 3 seedlings have been 12/12 from seed. i also noticed some brown spots on a couple of leaves, on the serated edges.

the grow box temp is around 82, and has a computer fan for ventilation.

just looking for some general advice really:) im afraid my growbox is as big as its getting so i dont exspect miricles, i would be happy with 2 grams per plant, this is purly a science project really:P can i exspect too get ANY bud out of these? i intend too add a 3rd CLF and extra computer fan soon.

thank you for any help and advice:).

ps.unsure where too post this so have posted here and in "basic growing"

From my own experience you can go 12/12 from seed and the plants will not begin flowering until they reach sexual maturity. The nodes will go alternate instead of opposite, and that's when it will start flowering. :)

So your probably going to think i'm being a dick but really just honesty with out any attitude. ok. ok.

Here are your problem that require fixing

1. Card board is a no no. (fire, heat, burn house, burn plant dead. not worth it)

2. No way to reflect light off of brown card board. (Mylar or flat white you choose)

3. No pearlite = poor soil drainage. period.

4. yellowing leaves can be: Nute burn, lack of nutes, lack of etc.

5. Thin main stalk = streatching

6. Whats with the VHS tapes your the second person i've seen here do that. use something else that won't melt please.

7. Dead space between top of soil to rim of pot creates a great place for mold to grow, minimize that to no more than an inch.

8. You don't want to hear it but nothings going to bud in such a small space.

9. Don't see any any air being moved over the plant, makes plant weak.

10. 50/50 chance with bag seed for female possibility.

11. Growing takes patience and persistence like any living thing. Only know the lowryder strain and dwarf strain will show sex in 20days.

12. plant is small for 5-6 weeks, are you adding nutes? proper dosages?

13. Words of wisdom from Sam Beckett " Fail, fail again, fail better."

Best of luck in resolving your issues, hope i wasn't to harsh.

Happy growing!

Any thing i write about here is purely fictional, i am taking part in an on line Role Playing Game (RPG) about the cultivation of marijuana. In no way do i condone the cultivation, use, distribution, or consumption of the plant with genus "Cannabis" followed by species "Indica" or "Sativa" or any other breed or hybrid of said genus.

Nice. I wouldn't call that harsh at all. Mucoho bueno. very helpful. You got some things to think about now dude. your plant is ALIVE! thats a good sign, keep it up, but there are some things mentioned that you definitely got working against you there. Such as your space; needs to be much taller for you to fit a full-flowered plant of that size, twice as tall at least. Keep that sucker alive, your doing great. Id get some better soil for when you up your pot size/fill it up more cuz it kinda doesn't look like good soil but idk(do you know when a plant gets transplanted?). My advice: pick a problem/issue and research it until you find out ALL the info, all your options, and your best solution. Just like the brown walls; look it up, find an answer, resolve it. thats how we do it here :)
priorities 1=soil 2=space/walls/fans/lights/temp/pH/humidity 3=now see how your plant is reacting to it's new environment and adjust whatever needs adjusting

is that fan doing your plant good service? if not add another maybe just circulating inside. (oh nm you are adding another sry)
your light switch is np. they will flower when they flower, be patient. and add some more CFL's with some $2 Y-splitters will make that plant happy happy
don't mess with nutes, looks like your doing this in "broke" fashion, like me! haha so i don't spend $$ on stuff like liquid nutes. Maybe buy ONE bottle for one purpose(if you want) and use it at it's specified time in LOW dosage and expect little, just don't hurt your plant on your first try because you OD'd the nutes; that would suck.
All bout the learnin, if you keep it alive, you learn..so KEEP IT ALIVE, you can do it!!
Peace and gl

leaves look green and healthy but stalk looks very spindly... this is because of lack of sufficient lighting... you need to get yourself a box that is just like a foot taller or those plants might not be able to flower in that box without curling against the top of it and hitting the light and stuff like that... i have a pretty small box myself... it is like 30 inches side to side, 30 inches front to back, and about 4 foot tall so when i harvest my plants they will only be about 2.5 feet tall because of my large clay pots and lights. but i also am learning. my first plants are only about 6 weeks old and they are almost 16" tall... they were outside for the first 5 weeks or so and now inside on a 24 hours of light becuase i just finished the box. also if it helps i'm also using cfls and i've learned that "daylight" bulbs are best for vegetation and "soft white" or "warm white" are better for flowering stage... i had 13 bulbs in my box including a huge 68 watt soft white that cost me $15... i have a combination of strategically mixed daylight and soft white bulbs for maximum efficiency... if you want pics let me kno and ill show ya... ok a couple extra thoughts... also i have the entire inside of my box covered with foil and foil tape... you should do this or use something white... and do not let any light leak into the box while in "lights off" time or i hear your plants can become hermies and produce weak seedy bud :) hope i helped bud... btw i just joined this forum and this is my first interaction on here!
