I thought this may be fun and toss around a few ideas. maybe even peice together some decent legislation.
Senario:
You have just taken the oath of office and the country is teatering on a deep depression what would you do as president to jump start the Ecconomy?
Here is my solution:
My fellow CITIZENS I have just signed a presidential order making the propagation of 5 plants leagle in the united states and her territories also with that I made it leagle for the posession of 3 ounces cured at any one time.
I have also created a presidential order that Marijuanna can be sold to the public throug so called marajuanna mom and pop shops.
These shops will pay a tax/licence fee upfront of 5000.00 Every year regaurdless of profit.
If they are caught selling to any minor under the age of 18 without a medical card(in the states that have MJ compassion laws) they will loose their licence and heavey fines and jale time of 100,000 and 3 years prison MANDATORY without good time and 7 years comunity service. Because these are presidential orders they do not need congressional approval.
These presidential orders will be filled and will take place in 48 hours.
Thank you and god bless you.
Could you imagine how much tax revenue they would get from once city the size of say pittsburgh or dallas or los angeles???
there would be billions of tax dollars literally collected in the course of 1 month alone.
in just one small city the collection of 100 tax certificates alone would be 500,000.
what would you do?

It would compare to alcohol and tobacco, but I do not believe it would stop us from going into a deep depresion if that were the situation at the moment. People forget that 1 reason cannabis is costly, is that it's illegal. All estimates, are done usually based on the "black market" price. Even now, most "legal" places to purchase cannabis in fact, are selling at just as high, or higher prices than the illegal market. So it kinda seems like we may have created a Frankenstein w/ MMJ, as we now have a vested interest if you are in the "MMJ Disp, $$ Part of the community. What happens as soon as you can walk down to the local shop and do business in an open free market w/ cannabis. What happens when there is competition? I tell you, the people making money in MMJ now, would not any longer. They now have an interest in keeping the status quo. Once you can go anywhere to buy anything you want, MMJ Machine is done.
And then MMJ users, would not be gouged for their cannabis. Then there would truly be, safe, economical access to cannabis for those that need it for medical reasons, as well as not criminalizing 25% or more of our population. Just the psychological effects of that would be postive all the way around, socially, economically, everything. You would not have people in the shadows, affraid to loose their freedom, they could freely participate in society and not have to worry about the consequences which obviously are out of proportion the the "crime" if you want to call it that. LMAO
All this said, I am not hating at all on anyone, vendors, disp's, etc... in fact, I am just pointing out what their most logical position would be, protect yourself. I am just trying to put myself in their shoes. Making $$ hand over fist now, taking a meassured risk w/ feds, and possible harrassment from time to time from leo, but making bank.
Or.
A canna shop on every other corner, selling the same potent variety, for much less, while your "1st of it's kind" MMJ Disp is empty and quiet. Except for the 2 employees you still have that are just twiddling their thumbs.
All that said,
cannabis will not make or break the nation ever economically, it's positive input "hypothetically" would likely be comparable to any other similar industry. Marginally postive. Not gonna save us from a real Depression.
Now what would I do?
Well I am bat fucking crazy.
And you better believe I would do something fun.
Great Depression on the way?
OK
I would (in a fantasy, a crazy strange one), relocate D.C basically, as well as the pentagon, and all other federal offices and resouorces to the rockies somewhere easily defendable from attack. Then I would make the midwest, roughly from the Rockies to the Mississippi River the "New U.S." and start over. Leaving the east and west coast to fend for themselves. Allowing anyone that would wish to come or go from the new U.S. freedom to do so. I would basically start over from zero w/ the new U.S., and let the coasts wither on the vine and die, or they could survive and thrive. I don't care. The new U.S. would preserve the original constitution, and return to an ideal, true form of the gov. that our forefathers had intended. Keeping most of the laws, amendmants, bill of rights, everything as true to how it was originally written. There would be a new supreme court, in the MW, as well.
I mean, what does any business do when times get tough, they cut back right? Drop the dead weight? Conserve?
Whew! I have no idea what the OP even said now. WTF? LOL
