here are my pride and joy at the moment, this is my 2nd attemp at this. my first attempt was very disappointing when i switched to 12/12 and low and behold i fathered 4 sons, but it was a great learning experience i leaned a million things of what NOT to do to the plants while they were growing, i did everything possibly wrong like over and underwatering, too much nutes, droped one of them, too much heat ,too little heat, ph levels being off, too little light, and the best one was a 5 inch metal fan falling 4 feet off a shelf hitting my head then ricochet off my head and destroying branches but beside all that it was a fun learning plateau enough of that this is my latest 5 weeks old 12-13 inches tall very bushy and growing under cfls, 1 of them already preflowered undere 24 hours lighting and showed me her beutiful tiny white hairs, and the other is starting to preflower now only time will tell for that one, well here are a few pics will post better ones as soon as i find my digital camera so this will have to do for now. let me know what you guys think this far. thanks everyone

sorry to be a pain in the ass guys with too many questions i was just wondering if i throw them under 12/12 when they are 18 inches tall what would the approx. height be at harvest time? i know there is no way of telling but this is my first female and was just wondering? and thanks for the complimants to all you guys!!!

they'll stretch 2 to 3 times their current size.

For the pots, you should wait until the soil is almost dry (easier but not necessary), palm the top of the soil with the stem going between your fingers. Then just turn the plant upside-down. Carefully pull off the old pot, tapping lightly if needed to get it to budge.

About the height, there are some threads around about the "stretch"... but it depends on strain also. If you have height issues, look into LST and SCROG, they worked great for me... and you don't have to limit the size of your plants according to height.

my fault everyone didnt realize i had this thread started i wouldve kept all my posts on this thread but anyway im goingto keep this one going, so im going to put all my pics in this thread so again my fault. so here we go 6 weeks into these 2 plants 1 girl and just found out my other is a boy (sucks) but going to grow him considering it was a 525$ oz and got only 2 seeds dont know the name of the strain though but im going to keep him going for his pollen to collect for future pollination on a clone, they are both 19" now, just attempted 2 clones off the female from the lower branches, the clones are 4 days old now and look alright so far, also got 2-3 week old plants now dont remember when i exactly started them was probly burnt at the time, one of them looks indica and other sativa? if im wrong feel free to correct me them were just plain bagseed i got from a decent bag. and just started 10 seeds last night, ok enough of the that here are the pics.
suggestions, comments, and advice is welcome, thanks

I just left a male sit on a window sill for a few days and in under 5 days or so it opened up and I carefully cut it and hung it upside down in a brown paper bag and then I am letting it dry.

hmmmm..... yesterday i was tending the pumpkin patch and checked my clones, looked good but forgot to cover them up with the plastic baggy and didnt spray them to keep humidity in 2 hours later i checked them and they were totally wilted flopped over so i sprayed them well covered them back up and 1 hour later they were fine nice and perky, did they flop over cause they havent developed root system yet??? they are approx 9 day old cuttings and also how will i know the clone took to rooting?any answers would be great. thanks

im going to be getting ready to start flowering soon, preflowers have been popping like crazy in the past week she is 23.5" inches today she is 7 weeks old. today i set up the timer for lights for 18/6 as i was running the light at 24/0 right know as we speak she is sitting in darkness for the first time in her life. i think im going to veg her for 1-3 more weeks before the big change. also going to take 2 more clones later on,but i have a question, well a couple questions, the first one is i recently took 2 cuttings 12 days ago from the very bottom branches, is it safe to take the rest of the lower branch from the first time ? the second question is i just recently transplanted her into a 3 gal pot where she was routbound in the 2 gal pot 4 days ago, should i be thinking about transplanting her into 5 gal before flowering? if so how early can i transplant her where she was just transplanted her 4 days ago

Don't take off more than I think is said 20%-30% but I personally wouldn't take off any more than about 25%

Yeah you can probably just transplant into the 5 gallon to be safe. Pretty sure they will rootbound that 3 gallon pot rather quickly. Transplant it in about a week or so. Remember though that will stop them from growing for a couple of days so if you planned on flowering within the next 1-3 weeks, I'd probably go with 3 weeks, so that way you can give your plants some GOOD time to recover.

thanks freak! hey the weather up here in the northeast has sucked for outdoor grows with the over abundance of rain and clouds hasnt it?

Yeah man I know what you mean. I live in Vermont and all we have gotten for the past 2 days is rain and shit. And its supposed to keep up for the next few days.... Im pretty depressed about it.. Just really glad I decided to keep my babies indoors instead of goin outside with the grow. BTW what kind of lights are you using?

juiceybuds29
06-18-2009, 08:38 PM
im using (2) sun 4 ft florescents, (1) 4ft natural daylight flourescnt, (1) 4ft cool white flourescent, (2) 2ft natural daylight flourescent and (2) 2ft plant gro flourescents, ive read to mix differnt bulbs to get a wider color spectrum of light, so far so good. i want to add another 4ft fixture but i think it might be to much heat cause right now my closet runs between 80-84 degrees with 45-55 percent humidity, so im thinking right now it might get too hot unless i add a good ventilation duct. but im going to wait prob next time around. im also glad i didnt start these outside the weather has been horrible in mass.

i cant find a clear answer on this but how will i know if my clones rooted?? they are 12 days old ive heard once the leaves start to yellow means they are rooting, is this true? how about if i take away their misted baggy, and see if they fall, would that work to tell me?

ultimatefreak48
06-18-2009, 09:39 PM
I cant be much help with the cloning seeing as I have never tried it, but I am using 4 2 ft flouros. I think totally up to 200 watts, but I also have a few cfl bulbs lying around that I can add to the cabinet.. Would you think that would help?

juiceybuds29
06-18-2009, 09:53 PM
dude im telling you that is exactly the same way i started with 4 2ft flourescent bulbs, if you have the space to add (4) 4 ft bulbs also that would be geat, thats what i did and my results doubled, but if the space wont allow it then definatly the cfls will work, well they worked for me than i got the 4 footers. good luck man!

heres a couple of pics i took last after my lights came on yesterday (first 6 hours in darkness),grew 1.5 inches in 6 hours i was impressed, btw she is 25 inches tall:thumbsup:. next week going to transplant again into 5 gal bucket because she is getting big and i want her to get a little bit bigger, maybe 3 ft then flower her, got plenty of height ceilings are 10 ft but a little worry some about width since space is 2 ft wide. also will be postin pics of the rest of the grow room too. :D

are those newly cut clones and you just placed them in those pots and misted them? If so, you may want to put them in a gallon size ziploc bag and spray the inside walls with R/O water and put them in that under low intensity lights. Low intensity lights makes the plants concentrate on rooting.

ok  just making sure! Not really sure how to tell if they are rooted as they look to be in the medium already. I'm using peat pellets so that I can see when the roots emerge. Hopefully soon cause I'm ready to plant these suckers! :D

Oh yeah, also I cut the tips of each fan leaf to let it restrict transpiration. Supposedly helps the plants from "breathing" too much in their environment.

just an update, today she is at 26.5 inches tall and looking real healthy, last night i chopped 4 of the huge fan leaves off to get more light underneath, she doesnt seem to mind too much maybe a tad slower growth today but all looks good, preflowers and pistols are just about on every node now. quick question been reading miracle grow is no good but didnt see a reason why, anyone got an answer? ive been using miracle grow right a long 1/4 dose to a gal and havent seen anything bad happen so far, can it be bad over long term using it? any help will be great. will be postiing update pics tomorrow also

update- ok my big indica female is now 8 weeks into veg. 29inches tall and very wide avg. 1in of growth a day, im startin to get alot of growing tops growing off the branches themselves, some are about 3 inches now, i think this is one is going to be a beast (well hoping), and praying for a descent yield:D. do you guys think it is far fetched to get 6-8 oz off her? i know there is absolutley no way to tell, but i was assuming that if everything goes as good as it has so far she should be 6-7 feet when she is done flowering, im planing to start 12/12 when she reaches 3 ft, well was just wondering. anyway i also got my 2 clones now that have rooted, they are 16 days old and out in the open with their mom, they no longer need their humidty dome baggy, and also found out one of the other plants i started also turned female she is 5 weeks old, well heres the pics, feel free to comment, suggest or critize anything
