View Full Version : Why so much cancer, so young?

This is just going to be me, venting....but I need to try to put my anguish in words, just for my own sanity.
I have worked nearly 20 years now providing MMJ to sick people, in a state that does not recognize the significants that mj can provide. It has been a stugggle, trying to get acceptence of something I know can help people. I currently work with a cancer group and hospice group, unfortunately many I meet from the first group wind up in the second group.
In the last 24hrs, I picked up 6 new cancer patients; one gent about 67yrs old and the rest are all under 50. One women is 34yrs old has 4 young children and a very slim chance of living past her treatments. The other 4 are from 40-50 yrs old. It just seems to me, more and more of these patients are getting younger and younger.
The other major problem I'm seeing is the time lost and wasted by the medical community, misdiagnosing ailments before (usually many months later) that the problem is seen as cancer. It seems that cancer is never the FIRST diagnosis....always the second, with so much time wasted.
Why the hell are the worst cancers now showing up in the younger population? What the hell are we doing to ourselves as a society that it continues and continues, with no real cure or hope for so many?
It's one thing to work with older folks, like me, who have had full lives and seen thier children and even grand kids grow, but it is more and more young "healthy" people, who have not had a chance to see things thru that is really starting to bother me. Not sure there is an answer out there, just wish someone, anyone was looking harder for an end to the horror known as cancer.

It is sad.
Seems just about everything we eat, from genetically modified vegetables to genetically modified meats, are really working against us instead of for us. Sure, that chicken leg you're eating may be about the same size of the leg on the dinner table... but don't thank good genetics for that, thank growth hormones and other animal products that may or may not be safe for human consumption. (The FDA jury is still out on quite a few products...)
On top of that, everywhere you look you see some kid guzzling a soda or energy drink like it's water. It's been proven that drinking too much soda can result in lower potassium levels in the blood, and overall poor health, but every couple of weeks some new carbonated poison is released in the market. It's no wonder so many people are sadly faced with a late diagnosis and discover that treatment really isn't much of an option anymore... they've been going through life for years feeling like total crap because of the unhealthy things they consume, and when they were actually faced with a life-threatening ailment they don't even know about it right away because they don't feel any different.
That's why I try to shop at supermarkets that always carry fresh organically grown products, even though the closest one is nearly an hour away from me. I'd love to have several acres of farmland where I could at least be self-sufficient, but that's not in the cards right now. Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't become another 30-40 year old cancer statistic, but I really wouldn't be all that surprised if I did. It is becoming frighteningly common. :(

I agree completly! After all, we are what we eat. Literally. Our bodies are made from what we do eat, so if we eat crap, our bodies will be crap.

wise words, and in 20 , 30, maybe 40 or 50 years, maybe more, maybe less we'll spot stuff like using microwaves with certain plastics is cancerous, certain types of grilling - are cancerous - certain fatty acids are cancer promoting, all sorts of pandorium waiting for us, but wait.. like you say, it's already here - the discovery is always latter to the existance.
Whysa docs look so surprised? Only conspiracies answer such questions. :P

Yes truelly sad. I've lost most of my famile to cancer. The truth is that if you live long enough you will get cancer. Bound to happen with the food we are forced to eat. We've been fed this line of shit about eating healthy but there is nothing healthy to eat. Salads are the worse thing to eat. So loaded with pesticides and low level radioactive waste we don't have a chance. Organic to certain extent is safer but is it really organic? We going to let the same people who have poisoned us for decades decide what is organic or not?

Okay, so there is High Fructose corn syrup instead of just Sugar. (because its cheaper)
Then all of the SOY products starting from formula to diet bars to protein shakes Soy soy soy. and its from the process they use as soy in general hasn't hurt the asian community except in western societies due to the current process of how they manufacturer it.
Diet sodas- basically its Artificial sweeteners in general from Splenda (chlorinated sugar) Aspartame (neuro toxin)
All of the chemical/ pesticides that we consume.
Pharmaceuticals that have $$$$ to persuade the govt to allow even though the "studies" are done in their own labs and are falsified.
preservatives, aluminum, lead poisoning. the FDA is a for $$$ business not for health and safety!
the growth hormones given to cow whos milk, and meat we consume.
Lack of portion control as we lack healthy exercise in general, so our bodies arent in shape.
Now these are generalities as many watch what they eat and drink and exercise.
But It is hard to decipher nowadays what is healthy what is okay what is bad and what is horrid for your health due to the billions spent on marketing to confuse the average person.
if you have question regarding what i have spoken about you can search and get a general idea from: mercola dot com
But do your own research too, as there is alot of info i am not even up to date on as they are constantly producing pharmaceuticals that are percursors to one thing and seem great but have HUGE sideeffects that arent shown until the public has taken them for years then people start dying getting so sick that they cant recover Ever.
I could go on and on.
But im ranting now so becareful out there.

Hey Denial, nice to see you again!
Out of all the things said to cause cancer (I'll agree with 100% of them), the real root cause is MONEY.

very true bigtop
The ONLY agenda is $$$ if we stayed healthy with everything consumed or environmental then how could we need Tamiflu which only works if you catch it within the first 24 hours of symptoms. or hell look at Chantix I want to quit smoking oh the side effects are suicidal thoughts or death well fuck me i can die from the drug or because of it. (just to be healthy and quit smoking )

hey brother, ya know, right back at ya :)
you said that the real root cause is money.. hmm yes
but what about this:
the real root cause is greed, and all the super greedy people have abundances of money, so we associate money as the problem.
Ironically there is no real reason why money, weapons, or technology should be dangerous or cause problems. I think, much like in Zen buddhism (hey I'm not pushing it! it's your life!) - most external problems start from within.
It's far too easy to choose external things whose source is an internal humanisation (that is so much to say that all external man made things like money, division of land, weapons, come from only one place, inside ourselves.
We could all learn a lot from zen buddhism by rejecting the insanity of externalism. Few people walk this path, it's considered `too impractical` or `madness` or `deprivation`. All true, whoever said peace internal and external was without sacrafice.

Sorry for a double post, but Rick Simpson is curing cancer with Cannabis trichome isopropyl extract - and no - I'm not joking about this.

ps: I killed a massive spider (3cm diameter plus) some 30 seconds after writing these posts, because i'm arachnophobic, I hate spiders with a passion because i was taught to from a young age, and because I'm holding onto something. This is a problem. Still, you can't lose something you aren't holding onto. Maybe there is hope for us in our violent and disrespectful ways :< sometimes I wonder if I'm being tested, and sometimes I think I am, by myself - constantly.
Peace.

fluid69; First, my deepest sympathies on the recent loss of your friend. Second, thanks for the post because you reminded me why this perticular case (young mother w/children) really made me so angry. "loved life, loved music,....." could have been written about my wife 22 years ago. I realized that in my mind I was experiencing the pain I felt back then, not of a slightly detached caregiver, but the pain of lossing a loved one way too soon.
Last night I had a conversation with a women who works as a physicians' assistant for an oncologist, her specialty is pediatric cancer. Talk about painfull stories; dealing with the innocents of children and the horrors of cancer. She was able to give me a new look at how to handle certian things in my mind, without becomeing too detached or cold with current patients.
"just doesn't seem fair" about sums up the frustration of it all.
Thanks again.

Thanks to all for thoughtfull responces, we are poisning ourselves for sure.
Add to that the money/greed of the pharmaceutical companies and thier sway with the government, no real end in sight.
Oh and thanks denialisback for adding the reference to Rick Simpson, I had been told awhile ago about the use of "hemp oil" in cancer treatment but had hit a wall. The google of Rick got me headed in right direction, as you point out he is using tincture of THC, not "hemp seed" oil.

think about this as a source for why people are getting cancer younger and younger. it seems that about 40 years ago something changed and started affecting people.
secondly think about this the more people get sick the more we rely on medicine to make us feel better. but have you ever thought about what was in your medicines, your vitamins? think about this all these chemicals and pills are made in factories. the goal of factories is to be efficient. they have to add small amounts of different chemicals to the powders and liquids and gases and such to make them conform to how we need to use them. what are these ingredients that people are regularly taking daily in unknown amounts depending on how many different medications they take. thickening agents, flow agents for powders. the sheer number of people who smoke cigs produce a large amount of carcinogens in the air we breath. that is what.

Well... i think doctors, hospitals, and the pharmaceutical industry needs that there be sick people. Its where they get their money (and survival) from. If there werent sick people, there wouldnt be doctors, nor hospitals, nor medicines (nor all the billions on profits it generates)...
