Bag Seed Grow (Project X)

I found a plant growing in my backyard around May 8th. I threw some seeds out when I rolled a blunt. ive got a new dealer and his herb is very nice, so I know it will be worth a shot. I had planned on growing some bag seed this year, and this plant inspired me to get right to it. I found a 3 gallon pot in the ditch and used the potting soil that was in it, and transplanted the plant. of course this was a bad idea to use old soil, so I purchased some new potting soil, replanted, added miracle grow blood meal 12-0-0, and bone meal 6-9-0.. Garden Safe plant food 5-3-3 with 9% calcium. added a few rocks to the bottom and watered with distilled water.

I bought some peat pellets soaked my seeds that I've been saving up..and sowed 72 seeds with a germination outcome of about 40%. I had some early seeds germinating as well from the same batch of seeds. Some of the seedlings stretched due to low light conditions. I transplanted the seedlings into 6inch pots that can be cut at the bottom to transplant into the ground. I used the same soil mix & water for each plant.

As of now I have 19 healthy plants including the one found growing in my backyard, and a few extra that havent quite sprouted and some that have what looks like small white hairs growing out of the first set of leaves.

My goal is to have around 20 healthy plants. 10 female 10 male or better and hope to harvest around 2-5 pounds in late OCT. This breed is unknown but is believed to be "mexican sativa" which can be pretty huge. This was very decent weed compared to what was going around with a price of $40 qtr/oz. some weed is as cheap as $25 qtr/oz here, or u can pay $120 qtr/oz or $20gram for sensi weed from the north.

I'm hoping to get $50 a qtr oz if i decide i need some moolah.

If you do successfully harvest this october, be greatful of what you do get, and just smoke on it. be conservative and the money you would have given to some piss pot 'dealer' will STILL be in your pocket while your eyes are as red as stop signs.

also, a fair warning... this is a 'medicinal marijuana' forum. So, keep the facts on the downlow. As you already mentioned :thumbsup: using old soil is a bad idea! but just wanted to reinforce it

Is there any reason you are using distilled water instead of tap water? tap water is perfectly fine for most soil grows unless its PH is WAY off or its heavily loaded with flouride or chlorine - the chlorine can be easily removed by just letting the water sit in an open container for 24+ hours, which will cause most if not all of the chlorine to evaporate in that time.

careful with that many plants on your own property... not sure what the laws are where you are, but thats probably enough to make it a more serious offense, and being outdoors, its obviously much harder to conceal from neighbors eyes.

they are probably not white hairs... if you are seeing plant sex on the first set of leaves, then I think you might have a strain that every grower on the planet might be interested in, even if its only for cross breeding with other strains... most of the time you will need see sex on plants until 30+ days into the veg cycle and sometimes not at all until 1-2 weeks into your flower cycle... depends on the strain.

Your goal should be to have 20 females! that of course is unrealistic though lol... unless you want to create seeds, but in that case, you should aim for 19 females and 1 male... males can be pretty slutty and get around with the ladies!.

there is a strain of cannabis that auto flowers, ruderalis.
i think these few ones that I'm talkin about maybe deformed.

im not prescribed cannabis. but i have been diagnosed with major depression and anxiety. cannabis helps me alot, better than the stupid anti-depressants im on. ive been a daily smoker for 15 years.

i water with distilled water at seedling stage, i read it may contain more minerals than tap. my tap has a very strong chlorine smell. i will eventually use tap and let it sit.

the state i live in isnt very strict about cannabis. its the least strict about cultivation than any other state I have looked up.
theres many many miles of woods and small rivers here.:jointsmile:

1 that is 7 weeks old, that reallly stinks, but 1 part isnt doing as well as the other, i tried the topping technique for the second time, but this last time i only trimmed 3/4 of the top to see if i could get extra tops. it also has a few red/rusty colored spots on the leaves, not to sure what that is...


5 that are about 26 days old.. no damage that i can see.

12 that are 17 days old.

added very small amounts of regular miracle grow to some water
and real bonzai tree slow release fert in the soil about 4 days ago. and bug spray for roses..

added small amounts of water (no fert) today. hope i dont have to much ferts in the soil. mold maybe an issue with the organic ferts...

let me respond by saying good job I used about 20 or so of those kinds of pots 5-10 gallon this year to see how plants would grow in all my own medium. I did bury the pots a little bit for stealth but I am curious to see how well they can retain water from being in a pot and not the ground.

the pots are so cheap, and come in handy when transplanting b/c u can use a razor and cut the bottom out to place the plant in the ground.

but i did have a problem with the pots getting dry in 3 days. but we've had heat advisories alot, besides all the rain a few weeks ago.

i wanted to use big pots like u were saying, maybe next year.
seems like they would grow better if theres enuff room for roots.

seems like they would retain water better if the pot was in the ground, + stealthy.. good idea!

the 5 in this last pic got destroyed by coons i think. the babies were still there, just laying on the ground with dirt all over them, dried up. :(


so I put most of the others i have left that are a few weeks younger in the ground.. 13 total in the ground. got 3 or 4 more left in pots. still very young/small.

Damn Stoner that sucks. My problem with my "in the ground plants" are bugs. I dont have the cash for any good product and have been using soapy water. But applied it with to much sun and burned em up a bit, well alot. They are alot better now tho. Cleaned the weeds out the other day and feed them some crap fert, but they needed a boost. Thought about ebson salt, but from iv read theres pro's and con's. I wish mine were as bushy as yours are. There getting taller but cant get close enough to check sex. i bought a chemical spray at walmart...
i think it was 3.50 or $4.50.

its a 3 in 1 spray for roses..insect/disease

its really worked great so far..
i dont have the bottle with me or I'd drop the brand name.
maybe i can go to walmart.com and drop a link to it.

i noticed at my small plant site, fuckin rabbits are chewin the stems on all but 2 of em.. i think they were chewed when i found that one lying on the ground. I sprayed em with the rose spray hoping that will give off a bad smell and the rabbits will be like yuck..lol prolly wont werk.

at the big plant site.. i noticed plant #4 sexed out today, female. and pulled up plant #2 at the big plant site. damn deer was 30 feet away, nosin around wonderin why i was there..lol

ive had mine in the ground prolly half their life, other half in pots. i always top them as much as i can without stressing them to much. i think the organic fertz i had in the soil helped them grow faster, plus i liquid fert about once aweek, half strength, once i put them in the ground july 1st.

oh yeah i spray for bugs in the late evening when the sun isnt shining on the gurls.

Can ya tell me how to find pistils. I cant get a magnafiing glass, cuz im freakin stuck out in the boonies. Pre flowers, see any on my pics. Seems i cant really get any good advise:( I put so much work in as you know and im frustrated as hell:mad:

i'll try n take close up pix today, n see if i can circle the pistil and post the pic.

the pre-flowers usually show up close to the middle of the plant.
where a branch and leaf meet the main stalk. but its easy to get confused with something that looks like a pistil, but not sure what its called.

if u see somethin that looks like a pistil, watch for a white hair.. sometimes it takes a few days/week for the hair to pop out the pistil. males usually develop more pre-flowers than females do..

gimme a couple hours n i will post a pic of a pre-flower up close if the cam will make a decent close-up.

i think i noticed a hermie yesterday in my big batch.

Nothing wrong with rambling with friends man. When people watch me get in and out of my car i just used to ignore them. Its just something a person doesnt see everyday, so I never let it bug me. People in genral, I believe want to help others but feel uncomforable, so they just don't know what to do. The thing to do is just ask, like helping an old lady with her grocery's.

Re planting the purple stem plant today. I'm pumped. I love messing with them:D I'm going to get some pics of the plants in the ground too, but its going to be hot! Hot and me don't get along very well. But im going to give her hell:D

Isnt that a cool site? I read a thread where stinkyattic and a few others were talking about brushing the pollen on the females buds that will produce femed seeds. Its not the seeds that the hermy produce, its the pollen ya use. I have nothing to lose, right?

I have friends who have family down there that brings back the stinkiest shitt. They tell me theres tons of places to grow down there. yessir i love this state.. woody harrelson grew 4 hemp plants in KY in 1996 i think.. he shot videos and showed everyone tryin to get busted, he took it to trial and they didnt prosecute him. u can youtube it.. or google it.

he point was that KY needs to state the difference in their laws between actual budding cannabis and industrial hemp.

4 or less plants in KY = misdemenor..

5 or to 999 plants = felony class D.

eastern KY is where its at...

I love Woody; he's cool as hell and made a point too. over 1,000G's is trouble here. You can have 100g or under here and its a misdemeanor.
Man i take about 50 pics a day and iv found that when the sun is out and really bright, the pics turn out with a bright yellow. But when the clouds come in, or you can catch some shade it helps a lot. Its hard to fix the pics that are taken in full sun. I hope that helps:thumbsup:

Was to rain last night, but it missed us, so that means 3-4 trips out to water. Its fert day too. Since iv started to use it, they've gotten taller and the leaves thicker.


Are you using any fert at all now? Iv read to stop with ferts at budding, or 2 weeks before harvest. But i think that might come with experience. I know that your to harvest with just sorta rusty white pistils. Live and learn i guess.

I dont want to burn em up, but i need them BIGGER! I am using 1/2 to 3/4 strangth twice a week. What do you think, im using the same kind of fert you are?

yeah actually it was shady on the gurls.. i think this macro setting just picks up light that aint even there. i prolly need to mess with the settings or somethin. i have no idea. i always go out there when its really early or really late in the afternoon, cuz i have really high blood pressure, makes it easier on me to stay out of the sun.

here possesion is midemenor if u have less than half pound. 225grams or so.

i didnt realize woody was from ohio til yesterday.

yeah i was usin 15-30-15 chemical ferts when they sexed out about 4weeks ago. b4 that the ratio was around 24-18-21.

i was usin once every 5-7 days, but i stopped the chem fertz the last few days of july. i was scared i was usin to much because, i also have organic ferts in the soil... i think next year im usin all organics.

i read during the flowering stage to lower the nitrogen intake if ur usin chemicals... like u was talkin about. and to stop all chemicals the last few weeks of harvest. and flush if neccesary.

i will prolly use the chemicals up to sept.
then not use any chemicals the last 30-45 days. the girls should be ready by mid to late OCT. i hope anyways...

i guess we'll see..

maybe manual focus (or zoom)?

and how do you think people used to focus before there was automatic?....manual.

you have much more control over taking pictures with manual focus/zoom/shutter speed etc.

Hey man dont feel bad, iv had my camera for about 6 years and i still dont know what half the shit is on this thing. I know i paid $500.00 because my mom gave each of us $5,000.00 for Christmas and i wanted to buy something for myself before giving it to the BILLS. Well i was in the place for 3-4 hours and thought id take this one. It looked nice with many features a case, extra memory cards and im set.

I went back to buy one for the agency i was working for and then flipped out. They were all $300.00 cheaper and 5 times the mega pixels. Im still pissed. You will get it man:D:rasta:

hey im still alive.. in the process of moving.
took a look at the ladies yesterday and they seem burned up or somethin..
i took a few "blurry" pix lol.


we finally got rain 2 days ago... not a whole lot but some.

that would be cool to meet up.. i might be in northern,ky/southern IN. around xmas.. maybe we can blaze up....

Dude mine were a bit yellow intill i started watering every day. The ground really soaks it up. So, i water everyday. I give each plant enough for each day and now there green as hell. The ferts helped of course but i keep em wet. Helps me any way.

yeah.. im thinkin that too. need to water more often now without any ferts..

because i still have some bone meal beneath the mulch, prolly been in there

about 2 weeks or so. that would be alot of work to water everyday. its also

about 30 miles there and back. about $5 round trip in gas.. but i know it

would help them alot. ima try n hit em maybe every 3 days... i hate those

flippin horseflies and wat r they called? um corn flies maybe? looks like mini

bees. i need to carry some wasp spray n hose them bad boys down..i swear

oh yeah i went to water today and seen some nice frosted nugs.
i pinched a few and dried in the oven at 200 degrees..
i think its gonna be sum dank becuz im pretty toasted right now and i smoked about 45 mins ago.

today makes 5 weeks since first signs of sex.
i hope i can get a decent harvest in about 6 more weeks or less.
i could prolly push it to 8 more weeks if i had to.

i read that a early harvest helps anxiety problems. when the trichomes are barely cloudy...
prolly let the small ones grow as long as i can b4 the frost comes.

i only have 3 big and 4 small as of now.

Nice looking hope your grow goes great try a mini greenhouse to stop raccons or put food far from where your plants are. Like I see some in the compost and but never in the plants.
