This is my 2nd grow attempt but my first grow log. Yesterday(6/1/09) i planted 2 seeds in 16oz cups with organic top soil(no nutes). Atm i have about 8 or so 20 watt CLFs. My previous attempts failed due to many noobish actons such as over-watering,stretching(due to light being too high), and Miracle grow soil burning. Since then i have done quiet a bit of research. Just to be on the safe side i didnt want to blame genetics so i got some Ice seeds. This is still an experimental grow(i have yet to attempt FIMing and Topping which i plan to do this time) so all advise will be appreciated and considered.

To start i germinated the seeds in a paper towel and placed it in a warm spot(on top of my Internet router's heat vent :D ). Both seeds popped and i placed them(root down ofc) in 2 16 oz disposable plastic cups(i know they are kinda large but i would prefer not to have to transfer them early). The current temperature in the closet is 83 degrees(4 18 watts going, hope it doesnt get too high when i raise it to 8-10 CLFs). The current grow space is a closet about 3x3 with about 7 feet of vertical grow room with no ventilation(cant help it really, no place to vent).

I will post pics once they pop out of the soil since right now its kinda pointless...

Thanks for the help!

83 degrees will work for the seedlings, but ill let you know right now that adding more lights is only going to increase that temp ... and it will be too high. you NEED ventilation.

I am rarely pessimistic about things but i know without ventilation things are not going to go well ... the plants need air exchange as well as a temp not much higher than what you are at now.

Are you hiding the grow from someone? Or are you more worried about changing things structurally? If the closet has a door, take off the current one, buy a new one and cut a hole in it, put in the dark room vents if you have to. You can just throw up the old door later on.

Just my :twocents:

Take care and good luck ...

sorry to say, but they popped but never germinated...they were really small looking seeds. but i may have simply had them too long. Ill try soem more recent bag seed for a try. So far i added 3 more lights overnight to check the temperature and it was roughly 82. Ill just keep this post and simply wait till i get something  . im pretty determined so ill find out what im doing wrong xD.
