So here it goes!! I have been using Latewoods GH 3-part recipe since he posted it and have gotten great results! Now someone told me that this recipe will increase my yield by 50% while adding to taste and smell. I'm not going to bother posting latewoods recipe there's a sticky a the top of the page but just so you know I'm doing it with his nitrogen correction.
I have 4 plants going into this side by side experiment, 2 separate strains. I will be growing the faithful Northern Skunk(NS) and my first breeding project known as Super Mutt(SM). 1 NS and 1 SM were fimmed and are in dwc 5gallon buckets. 1 NS and 1 SM have been lollipoped and are also in buckets. They were put into flower on 5-27, they are under 1k HPS and soon to be 2K HPS as soon as I get plants into my Aero Pipebomb setup. Which I will also log in here.
The values and additives change week to week in this recipe and unfortunately I am missing a few things for the first week which will be denoted by an asterisk * I havent taken the time to break down total NPK values yet.
Week 1: everything is in ml per 5 gallons unless noted
Silica Blast - 15ml
Sensi Bloom A - 15ml
Sensi Bloom B - 15ml
Mother Earth Bloom Tea - 10ml*
Liquid Karma - 25ml
Flavorful - 10ml*
B-52 - 0ml
Carboload - 10ml
Sweet - 10 ml
Prozyme - 15ml*
Hygrozyme - 15ml*
Scorpion - 0ml
Piranha- 1/2 Tbl.*
Tarantula - 1/2 Tbl.*
Humboldt Roots - 5ml*
Voodoo - 125ml*
Bud Blood - 1 Tsp.
Big Bud - 0ml
Overdrive - 0ml
Purple Max - 10ml*
Gravity - 0ml
Final Phase - 0ml
I should have everything I'm missing for week two, obviously I know I need to start with everything to do a true scientific comparison but this will do for now till next cycle.

Here's some veg pics, the big one you see in the small bucket is my Northern Skunk mom. The aero cloner is just an experiment that is under 4 cfls, all my other veg shit is under t5s.

Hey Pete, forgive my noobness, but I was a little curious about the pipe bomb thing. How does it work? And how big can the plants get? I'm just wondering because it doesn't look like the roots have a lot of room in that... Thanks
Your plants look great, BTW :greenthumb:

Its an aero system it has 1/2" PVC inside the 3" PVC with spray heads. The plants can be grown full size in here but I will be doing a sea of green.

I know what you mean.
That's a cool rig you got there. How can you do sea of green in one rig or are you going to make more ? Each phase of the sea has it's own nute needs.
I'm keeping up with it. Love to at least see a good plan unfold.

I'm on board Pete, just lately seems like everytime I reply to something there is someone there complaining bout what was said so just been doing alot of reading instead of typing. I will be posting some interesting info on some RW starter plugs that I tried but no worries I wont jack your thread

I don't believe in thread jacking, in any normal conversation the subject evolves to something else, so feel free to talk about whatever you want. I just love good conversation!!!
Besides Tinytoon your one of the few "newer" members around here that research's there shit and has some brains!

I like your pipe setup, very cool  ... I tend to comment more, in threads that have few responses, no shun intended :D ... too often, a grower asks a question, I try to answer it, then 30 or 40 others chime in, either agreeing, or disagreeing, it's a wonder anybody learns anything at all ... but, we'll keep trying to help :D

I feel your pain :D ... but, the wildfires that wiped me out, will be a long time to overcome ... as of now, I still haven't even germinated a single seed :wtf: ... I will be leaving on a 5,000 mile journey (no shit :wtf:), hopefully, in a week, or so (waiting on some important paperwork in mail) ... going to 'camp' awhile, at a friendly growing location ... then, the plan, is to get some seedplants working, and maybe replenish my dangerously-low stash ... even with success, it will still be Autumn, before any more of my 'NorCal Daddy's Girl' seeds are made ... thank you for being interested, though, that's a warm feeling

So I threw 4 more plants into DWC buckets tonight and loaded up the Pipe Bomb 2 days ago.
Was going to put pics up but can't seem to do that for some reason!
I also changed my veg around and put my mothers to be in buckets under a t8.

Sweet dude! I can't wait to see the Pipebomb EXPLODE! hahaha.
You are a bucket maniac! Are you still gonna do recirc?
Let's start a pool. Just cuz i'm an asshole, my money is on latewood. hahaha.
My chronics are all fucked up. 1 is pretty stretched, 2 is short and squat but has retarded leaves, and 3 is green and growing leaves, but it's barely out of the rooter. Good thing i have 3 more to pop.
Your shit is tight my brother.
Friday chop shop. Be there or be elsewhere.
peace!

Skeet I took your advice put a box fan the back corner hanging from the ceiling. Had my air intake behind it with a inline at the end, heard a noise, fan fell on the ground right between two buckets. Just then the wife comes in the room and says "So what are you always checking in here?". Aah perfect timing!!!
We'll be there, of course we'll probably be late. lol.

Visa Gold.......... more like unemployment card. Its called lollipoping it supposed to create just a few main colas. the idea is that the plant can focus all its energy on growing a few buds huge instead of trying to feed all the flower sites. We'll see what happens.

Well its officially the end of the first week for the 4 comparison plants. Both the plants that were fed the new formula had a black mucus membrane around the roots, to the untrained eye it might have appeared to be root rot, but in fact it was only hanging on to the roots. When I discovered this on day 2 it worried me a little and I flushed the roots on one of the plants. The black mucus came back and there seemed to be no negative effects to either plant. Checking them today it was obvious that the the plants which have been fed the new formula had better root growth and more mature looking flowers.
All good so far, but I must leave you all now because the Super Mutt is getting cut down tonight. This is my second harvest of the cross and it definitely looks a lot better than the first as far as weight goes. The smell and taste of the first harvest and my buddy's two harvests was fantastic. If I can get a little more weight and better buzz from it by back crossing it, which I already have(just haven't had time or space to pop the seeds yet), this will be a killer plant. There will be F1 Super Mutt seeds on seedbay in the near future.;)

These are pics of the Northern Skunk lolipopped!! it has a nice even canopy with plenty of airflow underneath. Seems to be taking to it real well. This plant generally does its best when grown out into big bush.

And here's some veg photos, cleaned it up a little put some from the dome into the DWC tote. The Chronic in the rapid rooters are doing great!!! Another week or two and they'll be in the veg tote as well. Each one of my Veg totes are under 4 bulb 4' t5 setups, my mothers sit under a t8. The northern Skunk mother has been reduced to half strength nutes to try to slow down its growth. I might clone off of it in 2 weeks then throw the monster into flower!!!!!
Almost forgot the Pipe Bomb update, obviously the last 2 pics.

I actually veg in a dwc tote, my ppm is around 800 in veg. I totally agree with what you said in your post about the articles author being full of shit. He couldn't even make a parts list right, and for 3000ppm that's insane!!

I guess this is what happens when a bunch of stoners try to write.. they had a brownie recipe a couple of months ago that talked about cooking the herb in the butter. Problem was, they forgot butter in the ingredients!! LMAO!
We'll see how it goes.. I should have figured this shit out coming out of the gate!! I'm going to keep the PPM numbers low for a bit.
Thanks!

hey pete, what is pistilwhipping and/or lollipopping? I've heard a couple of people talk about it on here but have yet to figure it out. Dive done one of his plants, and I looked @ the pictures of his and yours, and I can't figure it out. any info. would be greatly appreciated.
Tiny, I know what you're saying. I tend to want to help people more who have went and done some reading. and really that's the way it should be, this site has so much awesome info. from so many great growers. Besides that, if people would search they could learn it first hand, instead of second hand from us. I mean, I definitly would want any grower to read some of the awesome threads and post that stinky has made. But don't let a couple of people with bad attitudes ruin this for you. I think you do an awesome job helpin' out nubes.

So here it goes!! I have been using Latewoods GH 3-part recipe since he posted it and have gotten great results! Now someone told me that this recipe will increase my yield by 50% while adding to taste and smell. I'm not going to bother posting latewoods recipe there's a sticky a the top of the page but just so you know I'm doing it with his nitrogen correction.I am just posdting this because it seemed that some mebers construed this as competition, Or; One is better than the other.
I was looking into this so I wanted to clarify something. Well; latewood doesn't claim that his recipe is the be all end all of recipes. Or; that it grows the biggest plants, yielding the most. He did mention that his goal in writing the recipe was for a "Safe" grow. So, Even though you might get more out of your grow using this Advanced Nutrient style recipe. He wasn't competing with anyone or trying to outgrow anyone, but was merely promoting a proven and safe grow recipe. That was the main point; Right? Plus. I believe his intent also was based on the fact that you can grow using the 3-part recipe without spending all that extra money that you need to procure the vast list you have there. I could be off base, but that is how I read it.
Still glad to see all the effort you are putting into helping others by sharing your work. I also can tell that you have followed and advocated latewood's ideas of experimenting and growing. Or; so it seems. Thanks
Sorry about rambling on, and; bitemybud! LOL :smokin:
