not sure if these are the water crystals that i have read about people using outside or not. i found them while browsing the net.

you can find them here (http://www.meritline.com/color-nutrient-and-moisturizing-crystal-magic-soil-for-water-grown-plants---p-35717.aspx?source=dealnews).

they are on sale for $.99 with the coupon code found at the top of the page with free shipping.

it's for 5 grams worth, which they say is over 70 crystals.

hope this helps someone out, if not i guess i just wasted our time and bandwidth. sorry.

no there more like this, little crystals that expand and hold water and slowly release it like a wick into the soil, unless im misunderstanding the concept of the product you posted Water-Keep (http://www.water-keep.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=60&osCsid=4a65f00b3e61b02180face581a848694) 1 table spoon is enough for two holes outside, 1 table spoon expanded into a gallon ice cream pal, split in half and use one in each hole

took a look at the website, they look more like super porous hydroton, sounds interesting, like hand watering hydro, someone should try it, be a sweet passive hydro system like the hempy

Why not hydroton shakezoola?

Miss MJ will not take shit from us slobs staring at her roots. Let alone the light making those sexy tap roots really shy to the edges.

I see the only reason for having those are the pretty colors. You'll get salt, calcium, and other nute residue buildup over time. Just as the crying shame of perlite not staying wicked shiny white.

Though I actually want to buy some and see how a few cuttings from the house plants do.

well i wouldn't get them for any serious business. and i know better than to put them into glass/see thru containers. i also could care less about the colors.

hell you could bury them in the ground i suppose. they are only $.99 with free shipping. only one way to find out if they suck or not!

You've made your point.

But..., are they going to be able to give miss MJ wet/dry cycles quick enough?

Either way. When you get 'um. I expect a 'headshake's adventure in crystal soil ball thingies' in the Advanced Techniques sections. ;)

my mom used to put house plants in these. they are like a silicone gel in texture. its a growing medium.

the plants always did well and didnt need much water. i dont know how it would be for mmj.
