:rastasmoke:Will get straight to the point, need some quick answers before i go finalize the set-up..
1. the fan im planning on buying is a 6" vortex 429cfm i belive. the reason i choose 6 "and not 4" is because i just rather be safe then sorry, if somebody wants to convince me im using too much im open to critcism.I would like to use my original thought of the 4"can fan with 4x16 odorsok.(let me know what you think). My set up is a enclosed wood box 5.5'x6x5, 6 plant setup. 400hps cooltube.with reflector wings, friend gave me some left over canna fertz(vega, rhiztonic, cannaysm)will be sticking with that.haha i started to ramble,,the question is pertaining to my fan and if the 6" is too much power?
2. When using a carbon filter and it says its rated at 400cfm, should my fan be way under? or is it okay if the cfm rating is over that..
3. should i go with a different soil for the seedlings or just stick with the fox farms ocean forest all the way through.

anybody???anybody???? quick question regarding carbon filter.if my fan is rated at 429cfm and the odor sok is rated at 400cfm for the filter is that too low for the filter to be rated since its under 429??? can somebody please help, is the general rule of thumb to get the filter rated higher compared to your fan right?? example 179cfm with a 200cfm filter??/ am i getting it right???

1. I'd get a stronger fan than you need, not really sure if the 429cfm is overkill.
2. Fan should be rated lower than the carbon filter, otherwise the fan doesn't work as well, could wear out faster, get hot.
3. Better to start with a seedling starter soil for the first week or two. I have used, however, the same potting soil throughout with success.

Good luck
