what's good everybody? i have been doing some reading on foliar feeding.

i was wondering everyone's preference on this.

i am using the fox farm lineup on my ladies. i am assuming that i should not use the solubles when foliar feeding.

so spill your guts like a cigarillo!

Are you refering to veg or flower cycle?

Only time I foliar feed is to correct defeciencies. Other than that, I let the roots do their job. Plants are pretty effecient that way. Would be nice to be able to keep an unrooted clone healthy and growing, just by foliar feeding though.

Anyway, you've gotta be careful with foliar feeding. It can leave a residue, clogging the o2/co2 exchange pores (restricting the respiration*)...the lights can burn the misted tops, and high humidity can present a problem, especially in flower. The dilution rates and times will be much different, and there's the ever-present possibility of nutrient burn or defeciencies till you get the ratio and schedules right.

thanks rusty! i should have been more precise with my questions. i meant veg (although i read you can foliar feed until about 3 weeks of flower).

and i beleive that most of the stuff i read said to spray water (properly pH'd of course!) on the ladies for a couple of days (at least) after the foliar feeding to help make sure residue doesn't build up and to help keep the stomata clean.

it's funny because you read all of these articles more so than anything that say foliar feeding is good, but it doesn't seem like you (not you you rusty, lol) never read or hear about anyone doing it.

thanks again, and thanks for the link.

I foliar feed clones from about day 4 or 5, with canna coco A+B (1 part 2ml/L solution in 5 parts water). Not always necessary with fresh cut clones, but if you've had the foliage in the crisper for a few weeks, it really makes a difference to the success rate.

Sooo...everybody is on-board with this post...? :wtf: How disappointing.

Perhaps I'm reading this wrong, but you are foliar feeding unrooted clones with success? Sorry for my skepticism, but feeding unrooted clones is a great way to kill the cuttings.

i just started foliar feeding rooted clones every morning with algen extract from van de zwaan.

i mix at half strength because they dont mention anything about foliar feeding on the bottle but the plants seem to really like it. ive talked to people that spray kelp mixes up until the flush and get great results. this is my first time using it though.
