In small closet A, I have clones in rockwool plugs in dome propogation tray under flourescent lites. 18/6 on/off
In other small closet B, next door, I have HPS 400 watt (using growrocks). Plants are now in Growth cycle 12/12 in 4 Easy to grow autopots w/reservoir.

What medium - what size container - what closet should I put clones when they're ready to Veg? I can't use grow rocks for them because I'd have to water them many times a day, or so I've been told. I can't use soil because I'm going to transfer them to grow rocks in closet B when they go into flowering. I can't put them in with the plants currently in flowering cycle. Please advise - I'm new at this and learning as I go -Thanks in advance!

Get some 3 inch net pots cut some holes in a tote lid add air stones and you got a dwc tub to veg in! Recommend getting a shallow tub. just put the rooted clones in the net pots with some hydroton, and BAM just throw them in your flower when they're ready:)

That's what we do. Could not have said it better. Just about the same setup too.

Thank you - pardon my lack of knowledge:
what is a tote lid?
what are air stones?
what is a DWC tub?

i did some research--now I know the dwc is a deepwater culture--and I found the air stones too. how often will I have to water the clones in the 3" net pots filled with hydroton? Someone told me its almost necessary to water them hourly and not realistic.
Please advise.

Totes are the storage plastic storage tubs with just a snap on lid. They sell them every where. Wally mart has a bunch.

Air stone hooks up to air pump like fish tanks. Puts air in the water roots love it.

Deep Water Culture. A tub or bucket filled with water and nutrients most all the time and air stones and a net pot in the lid.

Babcock I am a new grower too. I am also using DWC setup and love it after failing with a drip system. My emmiters were glogging up from the salt in my well water system. I now distill my water daily and ph is most important. Since I distill my water my ph rarely flucuates much I am using GH General Hydroponics 3 part nutes. Follow the chart provided as to how much to use. The more air bubbles the better too use many air stones. The roots love the Oxygen and keeps the juice mixing too. I top off with distilled ph water as my level goes down. Keep the roots in the juice at all times that will determine the water level . Good luck. I am finally looking great except my cloning is bustin my balls. Not having any luck yet.

will I need an air pump?

Yes, you will need an air pump. Preferably one with multiple outlets so you can run multiple airstones. You won't need to water - the hydroton will "wick" the water from the DWC system. External roots will eventually do the trick. Good luck!
