he was talking about a couple drops of dishsoap, in water, sprayed foliarly, to rid the pests ... just get a household spray bottle, and, be sure to get underneath the leaves ... do it in the afternoon (if feeding, spray in the morning, when the stomata are open, if spraying for pests, do it in the afternoon, when the stomata are closed) ... I always hang a No-Pest Strip in the room, instead, and never have bug problems ... good luck :smokin:

I'll second the pest strip idea, especially if you're able to keep them relatively close to the soil. Fungus gnats (and their larvae) spend a lot of time in or around the soil, so you're only going to have limited results from foliar spraying. You might have better luck spraying the surface of the soil with the soapy water rather than just the leaves. Also, be sure that there's no standing water in the collection trays under the pots. Moist, stagnant areas like that are perfect breeding grounds for the little devils.

Take care.

I just had this gnat problem spread super quick. I seemingly had like five to ten gnats then woke up and there must have been hundreds all over. I seemed to have completely taken care of the problem since though. First, you'll need to hang sticky tape traps from walmart or where ever, then just some drops of liquid dishsoap, a few drops of lemon juice and tap water in a full spray bottle. (I've been using this mixture to keep spider mites at bay for a few grows as well) This spray kills the gnats, seemingly without harming the plants at all. Apply as needed. Problem cured
