Hello,

I was wondering if there is anyone else out there that uses medical cannibis and is also suffering from MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity) disease. I need the cannibis for chronic pain and insomnia amoung other things, but I am really worried about any chemicals used to grow the medicene or that might be used topically on it. I am very sensitive to most chemicals and thay make me really sick. I know a lot of growers spray herbicides and fungicides and other things on the plant as it is growing. Also there is the issue of chemicals used to grow the plant so it yields bigger buds. This is a disaster for me. Yes, I get relief from the medicene, but it also makes me sick on another level. I have read about "flushing" but don't know if all the chemicals really get flushed. Can anyone give me some good information on the chemical side of the MMJ. I am desperate for information so I can avoid the chemicals that make me so sick, but also really need relief from the medicene. What I currently have is from a very reputable dispensory, and I purchased several different strains. Some of them seem ok and some make me sick. Erg ..... HELP ! Thanks in advance.

My only advice would be either to buy organic from a source you trust, or grow your own. Growing your own is the only way to know 100% for sure because I doubt that any of the growers will let outside parties inspect their grow op.

Wow that is a new one completely. I would recommend buying hash from the new dispensary, I think they are opening soon within the next 4 months. and herb that is grown correctly even when improperly flushed the hash yielded from the plant still has less of the chemicals. Chlorophyll is the chemical I am concerned about. and it is in all bud when smoked. Possibly try water curring your buds. This type of curring gets rid of allot of chemicals even chlorophyll. not completely but I think up wards of 90% more chemical free than other methods.

Search for water cure, their are methods here on the site. It is basically soaking your bud in cold water for a week while periodically renewing the water. then quickly drying for smoking or eating or vaping.

Grow your own! I'm not sensitive to many chemicals (just a few- mostly food additives) but I don't trust anyone but ME to grow my cannabis! It really isn't that hard to grow and the closer you stay to natural conditions, the easier it is!

Yeah if you can grow your own, that realy is the goal here. When you get your card and paper work, they are supposed to give you info on the NM dispensary, I dont think its open yet. I dont have any info because I dont have acard. check out the NM section on this forum for info or just go here.

Mad's right on- I posted a method for properly cleaning buds somewhere on here... I'll try and find it. I've only heard of less than a handful of cases of MCS... That must be so difficult for you :( I hope all turns out well!

EDIT: Found it!

I haven't had any instance where my bud had any chemical taste or flavor that I could detect, but if you are really concerned, you could wash your bud off with some water. THC and other cannabinoids are only minutely water-soluble, so it wouldn't decrease the potency of your bud in any noticeable way. Most pesticides, fertilizers etc. are water soluble, so the rinsing should help wash off anything that might be present. Make sure to use cool water (I wouldn't advise using soap or detergent, might have some bad effects), hold a bud under the water for a few seconds, turning, and if desired, prodding the bud to have better penetration of the water. Lay on a paper towel, and put in a dry, sunny place. Voila!

If you have exceptionally dry bud, try moistening it up a bit first with a bit of wet paper or small fruit peel in your stash box, only for a little while- you don't want to encourage bacterial or mold growth. If you rinse it after the bud is a bit springy, it will be a bit easier for you to maintain the flakier, drier pieces of bud, if you have any.

mucho thanks to all for your comments. yea, i think i need to get a garden going. i love growing stuff, haven't tried herb yet, but i really have a black thumb. it would be a kick to do it myself. MCS is definitely a drag. i just got a v-tower vape and it is really awesome and it is sooooooo clean, great price too.:hippy:
