Green nice log you got the Purple Urkel tummy. Now I have a question for you on your SCROG. What kind of materials are you useing for your screen and how big are your holes for the buds? But man the trainwreck is looking dank too!

thanks for joining in ;)
the screen is just chicken wire, but I stretched it to make the holes larger. for the frame I used 2x4's.
But I didn't really like how damaging the wire was when I had to move nodes around so I'd probably try something different next time. Like a tomato trellis sort of thing

well looks like I might be harvesting ggxbg and urkle soon. already have some ambers :what: I thought they'd all go at least 50 days. Not that I'm complaining, the heat is getting to them (as you can see in the pics). Plus, lavender and the wreck will have more light to fatten up with :D

When I first started growing I would of never imagined how much there was to growing a damn plant. Every grow I learn a lot and make mistakes even when I think I have it all figured out! Indoor is really a pain compared to outdoor.
Can someone explain to me why the same strain indoor can't handle 95 temps but outdoor its as happy as could be?
Thanks for checking in to the log jake will be a pleasure chatting :rasta:

UPDATE - DAY 45 - NEW CAB - HEAT PROB @ BAY
Yeah so i've been pretty busy the last couple days trying to salvage the remaining days on these plants and built a new cab to get my temps acceptable. I also hung the light vertically in this smaller space  Next run should be fun. Half of GGXBG and Urkle are coming down in two days, and the lower half will be left for another week. When they are completely harvested, my trainwreck that i've been bonsai-ing(:D) will go in as well as either the urkle or ggxbg bonsai (haven't decided :what: )
Also will be germinating a couple lemon kush x grand daddy purple and pretty much 12/12-ing them. just a little veg time..
anyways on to the pics!! :rasta: zoom in :rastabanna:

its a 400 CMH. 6 inches is optimal lumen output for HPS, but you are right, the heat did burn the crap out of them in the other room. but the new setup stays cool and they are loving it
nor cal huh / u should come smoke me out

well things are looking good here. for the most part. I went on vacation this last week and had to have someone water.... but they got drowned instead :(
Not too bad though for the flowering ones. but the ones vegging got it the worst because they sat in the tray full of runoff. oh well! they should bounce back fine
Before I left I chopped off the top half of purple urkle and godsgiftxbluegoo and let the rest finish up. Glad I did cuz urkle is finally showing some purple. I'd have to say though, that the plants are really loving the light being vertical. Lavender and trainwreck are going to finish up real nice because of it. In a few days urkle/ggxbg will be totally harvested and a trainwreck and lavender bonsai will be put in their place. I can't run urkle or ggxbg next run because of their ridiculous stink. Urkle smells like a gang of skunks rolling around in mixed berries. ggxbg is super sweet with a distinctive fuel/skunk aftersmell
Also will be germinating a few seeds I just obtained. Leda Uno. I was told that its a sativa with indica flowering time and is extremely potent if grown right. Grows columnar with little side branching. Great for SOG's. Which is good because they won't be getting any veg time straight to flower
Enough rambling

The urkle sure is a good smoke. one of my alltime favs. One of those strains that has it all.. potency, smell, flavor, flowering time, and yield isn't too bad!

Hey jake, i'm glad to have helped ! Your plants are really taken off now that they are into the ground! What kind of sunlight are they getting (direct, sorta shady, etc) ?
Maybe a smoke report will suffice

haha that is quite the oxymoron. my mmj rec is for insomnia, and urkle and ggxbg are great in that area... can't wait to run this Leda Uno, sativa is where its at when it comes to a complex high

Nice grow man. I've been wanting to try scrog, seems really intensive though. Also, nice strains. Always wanted to try urkle and trainwreck. Those samples you took look top grade. Keep at it, doesn't look like it's too long until harvest. Enjoy!

thanks for stopping in gunny
Scrogs are pretty labor intensive. Don't think I'm going to do it again...
The urkle is an exceptional smoke. there really isn't anything like it. has a strong body stone/head stone like an indica, but doesn't leave you pinned to the couch in small doses.
Yes harvest is near!! I just cut down the rest of urkle last night, and put the new trainwreck bonsai in its place.... man o man is it big i'm worried about lack of space. I kinda fucked it up with a product, Stimul8r. Its like plant estrogen. Produces more flowering nodes and you give it two doses before 12/12. Never had a problem with it but trainwreck sure didn't like it. Hoping it rides through flower O.K. Shooting for 6+ oz from it!

little update  stuck the camera in while they were sleeping. helps me diagnose problems as well. The new trainwreck is in the front right! you can see the damage that was done. It was a combination of overwatering and that stimul8r. Friggin burned up all my leaves on top. But I think its going to be fine.. But how oh how is it going to fit... I've been bonsai'ing it since february. I see extensive training in my near future

Ouch, that stimul8r looks like it did some real damage. Hope it holds up for ya.
That trainwreck does look nice though. I've heard that's why they call it trainwreck, because it looks like a trainwreck towards the end, lol. I've heard other stories too, but yeah. Looks like it has lived up to it's name.

haha that's great. really does look like the aftermath of a trainwreck... in a beautiful sort of way :D
yeah i'm pretty pissed about that stimul8r, it has always served me well. Really odd though that only certain nodes got hit, while others remain happy as can be. Sounds like heat stress but it wasn't. If those nodes don't snap out of it soon I'm going to just snip them off. but overall it seems to be making a strong comeback
are they falling from heavy buds or spindly limbs?

I'd say both. although probably more of spindly limbs than anything. i mean the buds are dense and heavy but the limbs never 'stiffened' like most plants do once they flower.
OK so i've got 4 lemon kush x grand daddy purple and 4 Leda Uno seeds germinating right now. Going to pick the two strongest of each and put those into the flowering box, and the others will go outside... if they germ that is :rasta:
Also ordered a bake-a-round so I can construct a cooltube for the 400. $20 shipped

so all the lemon kush x gdp popped out and look great. but the leda uno, i'm not sure those are going to pop. but I still have hope
cut clones of everything so the ggxbg and purple urkle bonsais can go outside. was orginally going to trash lavender because I didn't like it, but i'm going to wait to see how it smokes and give it another chance in the vertical lighting.

Its day 65 flowering for the trainwreck and lavender. trainwreck will be pulled in 2 or 3 days. Lavender has still got some time
My cooltube has arrived! I'll be installing it 2morrow with the HPS bulb I got as well. The CMH won't fit in the tube :(
3 out of 4 Lemon Kush x GDP popped and are on their way. and only 1 out of 4 of the Leda Uno's popped so I hope its a female
But the best news is that vertical lighting kicks ass. Its around day 7 of flowering for the new lavender and trainwreck and they haven't stretched. The nodes are coming in really stacked :D Not only that but the stems are 3-4 times as thick as last run... Now I see what the hype is all about

Thanks Diff. The GGxBG is honestly better all around, I'm really lucky that I stumbled upon this strain. If it wasn't so stinky I'd fill my whole cabinet with it!! Urkle is a stronger high, but only in the beginning. It hits you pretty hard but not much longevity. The GGxBG leaves you stoned and euphoric for a good 2 hours
FINALLY GOT THE COOLTUBE INSTALLED :D With the HPS bulb... which should help me yield better this time around, i've read that MH makes the buds leafy, but less stretch.... Took me a while today to try and rig it together without buying much.
also got my hands on some bomb strains...soon.. chemdawg, blue cheese, casey jones, and another one I can't remember :stoned:

watch out for that casey she likes to grow quik long and skinney, nodes are kinda sparse you can see the thai. i would say she does like a foot a week. twice as much heigth as an urkle clone within 3 weeks, rooted and planted at the same time. and she stretches under a mh brand new bulb. no report on flowers as of yet but shes almost ready for the flower chamber. probley an excellant sog strain tho.
