either sabotage that shit or start talking in code

the people i work with would hang up on me if i spoke in plain english

try things like

"can i grab a slice" for an ounce

"can you bring that flo-rida cd over?" LB order

develop a code so that even if the po's are listening they will not have reason to raid your house. i cant imagine you'd be conducting business over a landline anyways, stop using that if you are

I think this link will help you, as far as I can tell the black cylinder is just to protect a splice in the line from the elements(rain etc..). but the ? still remains where does the line go, but the good news is the black cylinder is not a transmittor or anything. keep us updated.

big bother's a scary muther. It's good to be paranoid, it truely is the 6th sense. and it pays to be aware of whats going on around you. as far as getting into your computer, I figure the gov. tracks everything we do. all the websites we visit, every e-mail we send and recieve, and every search we do on google. some serious scary shit: I used to work @ a cell phone refurb company and found out they can triangulate your signal to your exact location, as well as turn your phone on in a reduced mode to listen to your conversation, (even if you have your phone powered off). the only way to defeat this is take the battery out.

wtf? that looks pretty crazy! def. not the phone company, I would think they would run the wires a little neater, but on the other hand if it was the police, you'd think they would have used something a little more discrete.

well that's def. the splice enclosure. I'd just keep an eye out and lay low till you get it figured out.

Have you had any bad storms recently? I don't know what the white box is used for, but it's surrounded by orange utility markers and the Ranger enclosure is commonly used in disaster relief to reconnect downed phonelines. If any trees in your area have fallen recently, which you may not even have known about, then those things are probably what is temporarily keeping your phone line active.

For that reason, I wouldn't smash them.

...and just tell your friends not to say anything stupid over the phone for a while, but you most likely have nothing to worry about. If it were Big Brother or the police, it wouldn't be that obvious.

hmm i say lets look at this logicaly. i would say that if it was a tap it would be much much more discreet that a bright yellow wire you could notice any tim you were out side. i would have to think that maybe it was some kinda repair from the hurricane that rolled thru there last year.

i would ask everyone i know if they know someone who works for the phone company AND the cable company. i dont know much about either but if you got digital phone it maybe somekinda thing for it. but get someone who is knowlagable with these and ask them what they think. i used to know several people up there that worked for both and to get them over was as easy as sayin you got a fat one to burn.

I'd just call the phone company and tell them it looks like someone has run an illegal line to your phone box. They'll come out and investigate.

Yea my guess is that the underground line is corrupt, and this is a temp.Like killer said..call the phone dude's and say it's been altered/vandalized.Maybe get an answer..or they'll remember to fix it..

 I say cut it.. If your phone stops working, call the phone company a bitch (assuming you have a cell phone or something to call them with)..

definitely looks shady

and 99.9% of people busted through a tap have NO IDEA whats going on. they do ANYTHING to get evidence, most people probably wouldnt notice something like that, but that yellow wire looks so shady man!! be careful

That's a temp line, if your being watch you would not know. Call the phone company and tell them someone is stealing phone service and they will be right out to check it. It would not be laid out for you to see.

You should see the high tech stuff for survailance. It make me sooo paranoid I can't stand it.

I would go out there at night and make one cut at the wire/box, then another cut about 50 feet down the road. That way whoever has given you this little scare will be forced to either resplice extra cord to reconnect (which will take a little time) and with a watchful eye you will be able to see who it is. Or, they just give up and say fuck it. Either way, you win. peace :wtf:

Here in the US why worry about a wire tap? All the phones are tapped, and I no longer bother to talk in code. :smokin:

No it is not a phone tap, worked for the phone company for 13 years as both a switchman and repair splicer. When the police want a tap on a phone they do what is called a half tap or a computer based. A wire is run from your cable and pair at the frame to one for the line the police are using back at the station. This is the old way. The new way is computer based, where someone dials your number and the entire conversation is recorded. Watch the wire for more clarification.

The device you are seeing a buried wire splice case. It is used for buried wires which have been cut. You splice the wires and shoot two different kinds of gel into the device which will harden the case and the splice to the elements.
