I noticed that different areas have their own weed lingo. This has seldomly been an issue, but there is one time that comes to mind. one of my friends had some family come in from NY and they were looking to get a little smoke. I told them I could get a half nickel for $25 or a nickel for $50. they looked @ me like I was crazy! after a few minutes of discussion, I realized a "nickel" to them meant something completely different. Imagine the communication breakdown! LOL.

so here it is:

in my neck of the woods.

1/8 oz. = half nickel, or a small one

1/4 oz. = nickel

1/2 oz. = half bag, or half a big one

1 oz. = ozzy, oz, or a big one

quarter pound = QP

half pound = HP, or half an elbow

pound = elbow

1 gram = gerb
1/8 = eighth.. not too inventive there
1/4 = quatch
1/2 = half o
1 oz = o

I've never heard elbow used before tho. That's neat.

Take a pizza and describe accordingly. I don't know anyone who buys less than 1/8 so this idea works great.

Example:

1 slice of pizza = 1/8 ounce

2 slices of pizza = 1/4 ounce

4 slices of pizza = half ounce

2 pizzas = 2 ounces

Usually the description of the pizza can mean something too like:

Plain Pizza = regs/lows

Pepperoni Pizza = Middies

Pepperoni Pizza with Extra Cheese = Seedless Middies

Supreme Pizza = Nug

Supreme Pizza with Extra Cheese = Rare high quality nug

So an example order might be:

"Hey when we get food tonight can I order 2 Supreme Pizzas?" (can I get 2 ounces of nug)

There are lots of other methods I've heard people use but this is just one example.

I like how you guys seperate reg/low and mids and even acknowledge that there is seedless bud that IS STILL MIDS!!! It just didnt get pollinated. Around here people will say mids and the crap will come looking like some hay. And once it doesnt have seeds they act like its high grade.. fucking nimwits.

DIME= 1 - 2g MID GRADE
Dub(20)= 2.5-8th Mid Grade 1 gram High Grade
quarter= 1/4 oz
half= 1/2 oz
zip= whole
Quap=QP
P=Pound

not that creative out here.. LOL.. pretty straight forward.. a nickle everywhere I've been whether in Georgia or Maryland always meant a $5 bag.. which nobody sells out here unless you go to the city(DC) and will generally be a gram of regular or mid grade bud

1/8=eighth
1/4=quarter
1/2=half...
you get it. though we got one for the big O
Oz=ounce oz o onions

so you could say your picking up an onion for the steaks tonight-getting an ounce.

and around here there luckily is never schwag. but we got mids, nugz, sweet tea nugs(smells like tea bags), and headies then dank. in that order.

and thats the MD way

Dunno guys, I've lived in SoCal since 1978 and as long as I can remember we've never really had any catchy names for a bag based upon size or quality...it's always been "eighth" "quarter" "half" up to an ounce at which point we have a couple nicknames I can think of like an "oh-zer" or a "Z".

The Mexican gang-bangers up in Santa Ana used to sell "dimes" (and the street we cruised to get those was nicknamed "Dime Street") but that was back in the day when it was ten bucks a bag...and that was a while ago eh?

Besides we stopped going there once the gang scene got hairy in the mid-late 80's and suburban white kids like us were seen as rip-off targets more than as potential customers.

Regs shit

2.5 grams = nickel = 5$
5 grams = dime = 10$
10 grams =dub = 20$ = double dime
14 grams = half = halfskie = haffaone
oz = zip = onion = o = an ounce of bunk

then the dank/dro

grams are grams, usually 20$ a gram.
then eighths, quarters, halfs, zips

ALOT depends on who and where, 'specially in this neck of the 'Great Plains'.

Ive always called an eighth that doesnt quite look right a 'dub.' Usually $20 gets you an 1/8 of midgrade, but when it weighs out 3.0 or even 2.7, we call it a dub.

Kroniq
06-16-2009, 05:29 PM
1 gram ; a G
blunt ; 1.5grams
2 blunts ; 3.0grams = dub
quarter ; qutie/cutie = 9 grams w/o bag if im lucky
1/2 oz ; 2 cuties = 14 grams
oz ; onion = 30 grams
and so on....

new to da area but this is how it is around here... the bud is surprisingly good, high middies; not too expensive. i never get dirt bud.

edit: never heard anyone specifically use the terms 1/6, 1/8, 5/32 etc. untill i came on here lol.

It must be Brit thing, I always used "A Henry", and"A Bishops Daughter"
I also call cigarettes "Fags" which I guess could get me into a spot of bother in some parts of the states :)

Kroniq
06-17-2009, 09:47 PM
"Do you happen to have a fag" says the Brit. "Yes, I happen to have one," says the Pimp, and hands over a French.

an eighth...and a quarter, and an ounce..never used slang, it's just as obvious to repeat the same word three times over the phone as it is to just come out and say it..

You know you're a pot head when you reply to a thread that asks you to speak your lingo for what you call weed sacks and you don't even mention where the slang is from. You know, so the readers can know where the lingo is from not just what you call it.

Not trying to be a dick, I'm just saying it would've been nice.

Hey MDFinest, I'm so glad you're used to such better weed than all the hicks around you. It must feel really special inside to have that kind of amazing edge over the surrounding populace. :) Oh, and an eighth is an eighth. And if it doesn't have seeds it's as good as you can get at the time.

BlewBerry
07-03-2009, 04:43 AM
I call the amount whatever the amount is. I dont deal with anyone i dont trust and with that there is no need to talk on the phone about anything that has to deal with weed, they just ask if they can come by. All things can be handled by a friendly visit and a cup of jo. One visit from three friends and my harvest is gone anyways :(
