Michael Douglas calls for marijuana legalization

Washington, May 2 (ANI): Hollywood actor Michael Douglas has urged American government to legalize the use of marijuana.

Michael is of the opinion that there would be no violence if countrymen can smoke freely, unlike the violence incited by Prohibition.

The 64-year-old also insists that making cannabis legal would boost America??s flagging economy and make the world more peaceful.

??It??s an interesting issue with all of these troubles that are going on? and trying to resolve things. It??s an interesting thing that??s being raised again,? Contactmusic quoted Michael, as saying.

??I??m questioning it. We??re trying to get a lot of money for health and education and I??m wondering? you look at these gangs, and I look back at Prohibition. When we didn??t allow alcohol, what did we have? We had gangs. We had big gangs. It??s something that needs to be discussed a little more. It??s an economic issue and a violence issue,? Michael added. (ANI)

very good, we need more guys like Michael Douglas (clean-cut, respected, intelligent, scandal-free, and rich :D) ... ONE guy like that will bring more 'Yea' votes to the floor of Congress, than a thousand tie-dyed freaks smoking in the city park :smokin: (yeah, OK, so I was a tie-dyed freak, too, but then I got OLD) :D

:D :stoned:

he brings up a really good point about the gangs, yet another side effect of prohibition. do we really want to continue to feed the black market cannabis industry in this way? can't we do better than this?
