Hey all!

Here's my tale: grew about 10 or 12 lovely sprouts - most died from transplant shock (ghasp) exept for one, lovely, strong sweetie. Its doing ok, 60 days old and kept indoors with roof window sun (My plant and I live in a VERY warm Mexican climate and it NEEDS to be watered daily because of this).

All was fine and leafy for the first 6 weeks until its lower rows of leaves started to 'sadden' and shrivel away.. The plant has sprouted 4 'rows' of leaves, its starting on its 5th, but the 2 lower 'rows' of leaves have completely gone by now - just when it was starting to look quite leafy.. ;/ Also, growth has slowed down. After loads of research I assumed I should fertilize with mild dosages twice a week instead of only once, and indeed the top rows of leaves are looking perkier. Using a recommended fertilizer with the all the main nutrients (Nitrofoska). How can I stop further lower leaf death????!!!! I want this puppy to be leafy again (and to make it grow faster as its slowed down somehow!!)

THANKS A BUNCH (gracias!)

If you can find some MIracid try that. 1 tbsp per gallon. There's probably something missing in the soil and Miracid is loaded with micronutrients.

Which version of Nitrofska are you using for vegging, and since we're on the subject...which will you use for flowering? (there's four different recipe's on their website)

I live in the desert southwest, and watering daily is mandatory...but feeding with every watering can kill your ladies. If you are not adjusting the ratios so as not to go over the listed weekly totals, you are overnuting.
In other words...if the label says 1 tsp per gallon, once a week...you can go 1/2 tsp per gallon, twice a week. But if you just start giving 1 tsp per gallon twice a week, you are overfertilizing.

Skylights (roof windows?) are usually insufficient for growing cannabis, unless it's a very large skylight that covers the entire room. (it works...sort-of, but is not at all optimal) Also, how are you keeping them on a light schedule? During it's dark period...does it stay dark? (are you interrupting it's dark periods by turning on lights?)

How's your water down there?

Da nada.

Greetings all, thx fellas for the replies..

Im afraid its developing again!!! Its now affecting a new leaf- the tip of it is becoming dry and browning a few milimeters (aaaaugh!!!)

Killerweed: Will have to check the MIIracid availability in Mex - my country is not that well documented online for these aspects and Nitrofoska was probably my best bet to get started apparently!

As for Rusty Trichromes comments: I use Nitrofoska Foliar PS (% per kilo are): Nitro 25/Phosforous 10/Potasium 17.5/Magnesium 1.57/Iron 400ppm/Manganesium 300ppm/zinc 400ppm/boreum 150ppm/copper 50ppm /molibden 5ppm ____ Was definitely careful about not overfertilizing, I use 1 teaspoon per litre (so I just use about a quarter teaspoon per week on a cup of water and was told not to fertilize the soil after week 6, just the leaves and stem).... Halfed that amount to fertilize twice weekly just recently!!! I was planning to continue with the same Nute for the flowering !! (wrong?)

The funny thing is: I transplanted 8 or 9 sweeties onto a pretty huge n heavy rectangular pot that I carried outside daily for a few hours of direct sun (pant pant): but gradually the transplant shock killed all but ONE!! Im real attached to her now (hehe) SO the plant pot got too heavy for me and ALSO the gardener busted me and immediately asked if it was ganja (wow hahahaha) so I just opted for this convenient little roof window - it is indeed small though, about a square meter or less, but the sunray is super intense most of the time...

She's getting about 15 hours of light or a bit more (4 or 5 sun hrs and the rest just normal room light)- then total darkness for the dark period!!! I share my purified water with her, nice and optimal, a bit lukewarm... And now Im sooo worried about the new browning tip - that happened faster than last times - I feel Im running outta time to save this lil lady PLS PLS PLS 'ayudaaaa' (SOS lol!) THANKS A MILL once again :-x :D

I got some MiracleGRO that is meant to be for the soil, it says that its especially meant for indoor plants, should I pop some of that perhaps? After your comments I just have this GUT feeling that its the soil that needs a hand........ Because of this 'swine flu' most shops are closed for most of the coming week - but just happen to have miracleGRO free samples somewhere... Should I should I should I? Today its nute day anyways.....!!!

Purified water... is that Reverse Osmosis/distilled?-->http://boards.cannabis.com/hydroponics/155387-if-you-use-ro-distilled-water-you-need-calmag-plus.html That could be your problem right there...

if I understood correctly, you're using a 25-10-17.5 fertilizer, at a teaspoon per litre dilution ... that sounds fairly strong to me, I wouldn't dismiss overfeeding so quickly ... nobody likes being force-fed, not even plants :D ... :smokin:

Heya fellas ~ thx SOOO MUCH for replies :))) Peace

YES to Both! Using purified water that goes thru R.O. HOWEVER, here in Mex more often than not we dont have the same brands in stuff so not sure if I will find CalMag Plus... Is it calcium / magnessium enriched water? I live in a pretty soft / clean tap water area - what if I give THAT a try??!!!

And yes Image Reaper, Im using 25-10-17.5 nutes /// Should I give MiracleGro a shot sometime (never have - I have the 15-30-15 universal kind....) cos the soil isn't getting any fertilizer anymore (just spraying the foliage with 25-10-17.5 - but maybe the soil wants / needs nutes too?)

She is 2 months old and must say, she's not even 20cms yet (soil level upwards) and she suddenly nearly stopped growth real sudden 6 days ago...

Wanna stop that nasty lil browning tip and get her growing faster like she used to!
