Hi.. I'm a total noob with the growing - I'm just doing this for fun and if I get any yield, I'll be ecstatic - if not, no big deal. I'm about 5-6 weeks into the vegetative stage. My plant is about 10 inches tall with about 8 nodes so far.

I have had it under 24 hour light since the beginning. Today I noticed it had well developed long white wispy pistils at the nodes near the top of the plant. I thought these are only supposed to show up during the flowering stage.

I think this means it's a female (pretty lucky since I'm basically growing off of a single seed that a friend of mine gave me). But is this early flowering a bad sign?

Is it something I need to correct?.... and if so, how?
---------------------

btw, thanks for the great forum... it's answered so many of my other questions. So far I've found growing this stuff to be very interesting and fun! :)

You're seeing female preflowers  Just means that she has reached sexual maturity, and is ready for 12/12.

Good luck
