This is my first grow, and I am trying out Soma's Lavender, along with Reservoir Seeds ChemHazeDiesel, Nirvana's Citral and Ice! Wish me Luck!!

This is the tenth day of an 18/6 schedule. I am having some small problems with heat but the issue should be fixed within a couple hours.. I am growing in Botanicare ReadyGro Coco Mix using the Botanicare Nutrient Line.

I have two 465 cfm fans for intake and outtake, Including fresh air intake through the light, and into the enclosure as well for added c02 and temperature control

I plan to transplant the seedlings into 5 gallon containers as soon as they are large enough.

There is perhaps a leaf deformity with the ChemHazeDiesel I think. You can see the ChemHazeDiesel in the second photo down, along with the 4th and 5th photo down. Could this be cause by overheating? I have had some issues with that but actually resolved that after taking these photos.

Is there any issues that any of you can spot?

Thanks for checking this out!

This is day eleven of the 18/6 schedule. I noticed that some roots are visible on the bottom of most of the planters. Is it necessary to transplant them into bigger containers? I am also wondering if it is extra difficult to transplant when using a coco growing medium such as Botanicare's ReadyGro.

I have reduced the temperature a few degrees to around 79-80 degrees Fahrenheit with lights on. The temp seems to be stable at this point.

I hope you enjoy the pics!

Looking good so far. When the plants are that small, I would just put them under some CFL, preferably 4' tubes...I think a 4 fixture t8 from homedePot doesnt run more than 50 bucks.

No sense in running 1k if u dont have to.

Is a good point from a money saving point of view. I started mine from seed under a 600 watt hps and it has a fairly dramatic effect on the electric bill. The light, the fan, the ventilation all going for 18 hours a day...yeesh.

Plants look gooooood

At this point I am not really able to go out and purchase CFL's. I took all the necessary precautions and placed the MH at 4 feet above the plants. Next time I will have to use CFL's for my seedlings, but or the time being this will have to do.... Even if it has an undesirable effect on my electricity bill.

I will have another update tonight with pics from day 12.

Thanks for stopping by and checking the grow!

This is day 14 of 18/6 lighting schedule. I am thinking I will need to transplant most of the plants soon because I am a moderate amount of roots on the bottom of each planter. Any suggestions on that?

The plants seem to look healthy but I may be having some issues with PH, so I am going to purchase a meter.

Today I fed my babies with a little less than the recommended nutes from the soil grow schedule from Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow. Liquid Karma, Cal Mag, and Pure Blend Pro Grow.

They look nice!

Yesterday was the two week Mark and my plants all seem to be quite healthy. I bought a PH testing kit and my Tap water is in the perfect range, 6.5'ish. I did a runoff test today after watering with only water, and that was also in the correct range. I am wondering what may be causing the yellowing of a plant or two...

I also lowered the light about a foot today, preparing for a transplant and full on veg.

What do you guys think?

Thanks for checking my grow out!

Thanks for the kind words finn! I noticed your first grow went really well, I am hoping I can produce similar results. I have been thinking of trying lst with these plants, and after seeing your success I just may give it a try.

I noticed the last couple days a slight yellowing of a couple plants, so I purchased the PH kit. It all seems to be fine, but someone on another forum suggested it may be a nitrogen issue... I'll just have to wait and see.

I just need to figure a proper nute schedule now. I have all the nutes listed on the Pure Blend Pro Soil schedule, just need to adjust it to work well with cannabis I guess.

Peace!

Thanks

LST FTW! Scrog was even better IMO (even with some problems...) but I don't think I'd do it with 11 plants!

I've been thinking about trying coco next time around, and after reading up on it, I found out that it gets root bound very quickly.

Overgrow GrowFAQ: Cannabis Growing Encyclopedia
Using Coco as a Substate

The only drawback to Coco I have found is that a massive root ball forms very quick while in veg., all my plants were detrimentally root bound in 7 Liter (1.85) gallons of coco after only 3 weeks of growth from seed. If you are ready for the growth, being in pots, and hesitant at all to go hydro with supplies and adjustments, it's just a small hurdle for all the benefits.

Not sure if you were going to put them into the 5 gals next or not, but I would put them into something smaller first... Check the rootball on one of them. It's very easy! Wait until almost dry, then palm the dirt, flip upside-down, and GENTLY pull off the pot, tapping lightly if needed to budge. http://boards.cannabis.com/basic-growing/151941-importance-continuous-canopy-its-all-about-efficiency-baby.html

I have read a few posts on how plants seem to get root bound in Coco. I will be transplanting them into one gallon containers asap.

I gotta get going, but thanks again for the tips!

This is day 15 of the 18/6 schedule. I transplanted into one gallon containers today, and it went off really smoothly. I held off on the nutes again when watering after transplanting. I also lowered the hood about ten more inches to promote faster growth now that I have transplanted.

Everything seems to be going good, although I am still noticing the yellowing of two plants.. I will have a more detailed update this evening.

This is day 17 of 18/6 schedule. The temps are getting a bit high, and is causing a little concern. I also noticed burns of some kind on two of the plants. I have fed the plants with the recommended nutes off the PBP schedule and they really exploded over night. They look mostly healthy and I am pretty much satisfied with everything.

Enjoy the pics and thanks for looking!

you're lookin good man. How tall are those ladies? They look a tad small for close to three weeks of 18\6. Also noticed the fan blowing air on them, looks a bit close. Also a oscillating fan would be better. They like to get blown around a bit, and then stabilize for 4-5 seconds before getting blown around again.

Plants lookin good & healthy though.

The grow room is getting really hot during the day. I am going to have to buy a portable air conditioner most likely. I have tried several different things to remove the heat. I have moved around the fans and blowers to several different places and still barely any difference is noticeable.

It has been in the low 90's to low 80's for the last two days, Can that be detrimental to my plants? I am going to try and solve this problem asap!

I really hope my plants can cope with the heat.

thanks for checking my grow out.

Thanks for replying so quick.

I did read the thread on dessert growing and it seems like I should be able to produce some quality results.

I just don't like to see the leaves curling do to the heat stress, and I am hoping that I can at least cool the room enough to prevent that.

Just gotta take it one day at a time for now.

And I will try to attach my pictures. The forums only seem to allow 5 attachments per post although.

Anyhow, thanks for the words!

The temps in the room are more stable and in the low 80's during the day and at night it seems to drop and stay at 78 degrees.

The plants seemed like they were burned from nutes so I avoided feeding for a few days. I fed today with a weakened dosage, as I am hoping to prevent burns.

The plants are exploding and showing signs of rapid growth lately. They are really starting to stink already as well! I'm loving the aromas they put off.

Any recommendations or comments are encouraged!

This is day 27 of 18/6 schedule. Temps are still a little bit high. Averaging at about 83 during the day. I am planning on purchasing a portable A/C for flowering.
I have been feeding nutes every two days that pass. And I seem to have prevented new burns from appearing by lightening the fert schedule.

The plants seem to be growing a bit slow. I am thinking that the temps have had a lot to do with that.

Overall they look healthy and plush, and seem to be developing strong thick stalks.

I am hoping I will start to be able to see some signs of pre-flowering soon.

Thanks for checking my thread out, and please leave input! It's greatly appreciated on my part since I am a first timer!

This is 1 month and 7 days of 18/6. I cut down 3 identified males, and have Identified 5 females. 2 plants are unknown to me right now. The are growing fast and seem to be healthy for the most parts. I have had the temps pretty much under control for the last week or so.

I am having some issues with some of the females. new growth on some of the plants is very yellow and scraggly. I am thinking it could have been stress from the lamp, so I moved it up a few inches. I also think I have caused nute burn on some of the ladies. I am really hoping I can bring things back to normal. I will feed them with only water for the next two days at least.

Do any of you see signs of over watering by the way? I have noticed a small amount of drooping as you will probably see in the pics.

Thanks for checking my grow out!

These are the most recent pics. The plants that are in 5 Gallon containers are confirmed females. I also confirmed one more male tonight, so that makes 4.

I fed with a light dose of nutrients tonights.Just let you all know I am feeding with Botanicare's Pure Blend Pro Grow, Cal/Mag, Aquashield (also known as HydroGuard), and Liquid Karma at the moment.

You can see some issues in these pics, I am sure of that. I am still noticing VERY scraggly growth on two of the plants tops. I icluded pictures of those plants tops.

Any recommendations on how to put them back on track?

It has been a long time since I updated this thread. My girls are about a month and a week into flowering. I have been feeding every other day with about 75% of the recommended dosages from the PBP line. Two of the plants are packing on the sugar more so than the other three. Specifically the Lavender and the ChemHazeDiesel. I have had some minor issues with nute burn, which I think can be attributed partly due the temps. Some foliage dying off near the bottom of the girls, but I have not really noticed much of a difference in growth patterns etc.

Temps have been a bit high, reaching the high 80's. Growth seems like it may be a bit slow due to this factor. I'm hoping that the buds are not affected by the heat.

I'm really hoping for some quality smoke, even though this is my very first run. I hope I can produce some pleasing results.

Anyway thanks for checking my thread. All input and comments are appreciated!
