Not sure how everyone here is on reading, but there are some top books out there that really can send you off on one when under the influence of the mighty herb. I for one can really get into a book when stoned, so here are some tried and tested recommendations.
The Teachings of Don Juan and the Yaqui Way of Knowledge by Carlos Casteneda.
A stoner, or more correctly, 60's psychadelic, mushroom and everything else type text thats supposed to be a proper study. But its just good reading about this guys experiences while taking peyote. Worth a read. The rest of the series is also good, but this is the one you wont be able to put down.
Tolkien; Would actually say avoid, its too heavy going when you are stoned.
The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster.
Actually a kids book, but its fekking great - all manner of strange tjings going on and you'd swear the author was off ti when he wrote it.
Love All the People: Lyrics, Letters Routines by Bill Hicks.
Say no more, the man was a fucking god.
Brain Droppings by George Carlin.
Good short bits of sillyness and well observed humour. Laugh out loud time.
Any one got any suggestions?

I just can't read when I'm stoned, it takes away my high. Sounds interesting though....I like to read the True Crime books, like Ann Rule. Some crazy people out there!! I like to get really stoned and play the Playstation 2. Tony Hawk baby!!!! I kick ass when I'm high!! I concentrate better..... =o)

George Carlin is hilarious, you should check out his new book "when will jesus bring the pork chops?" It's also funny.
Last I heard, George went to rehab for drinking and abusing vicodin. Vicodin isn't even that strong of a drug, I think George is pulling the wool over our eyes.

Vicodin isn't a strong drug, but it's an addicting drug....I know, I used to work in a Dr.'s office and you wouldn't believe ALL the people who would come in EVERY WEEK just to get refills, then when it takes more for their high they start asking for oxycontin, or xanax. It could be true!!!

I know......I had to play it cool when I quit, cuz when I worked there, I'd just call them into the pharmacy (i was the nurse for the doc) and go pick them up after work....I didn't want them to red flag me, didn't want to lose my license so I quit doin' it. Now it's been so long I'm afraid too even think about trying it, if I thought I could get away with it I would, but it's really not worth the risk....ya know! I'll stick to my weed, but if I come across some or someone, will keep you in mind.........

THAT is fucking heavy going. Cannot read it stoned. Perhaps read it straight, then get stoned, then chew it over.
Brave New World - top book that really everyone should read once

reading anytime is cool, Tolkien is good but sometimes too long if you're high. if you want something kinda crazy but still easy to read, The Hobbit, better than Lord Of The Rings or The Silmarillion whilst stoned, they're too long and i get bored of tedious things when i'm caned!
