in the 1976 outbreak here, 1 fatality from the flu, 25 fatalities from the vaccine..

Think about it, why wouldn't they blow it out of proportion...150 million flu shots..??

Markass, your numbers are bogus ... this, from the CBS website, (I Googled '1976 flu fatalities', and found this at the top of the list) :

CBS Quote: " The U.S. death toll surged fourfold from 16,263 in 1976-77 to 64,684 in 1998-99, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported " - Unquote ...

Is that from the 1976 swine flu outbreak, or the total number of flu deaths for that year?

Wikipedia:

The 1976 swine flu outbreak (or the swine flu fiasco) was a strain of H1N1 influenza virus that appeared in 1976, circulated for one month, and apparently disappeared.[1] It prompted a mass immunization in the United States. The strain hospitalized 13 people and killed one, all from Fort Dix.[1]

The vaccination program was plagued by delays and public relations problems, but about 24% of the population had been vaccinated by the time the program was canceled. Only one person, the Fort Dix army recruit, died from the flu.[2]

About 500 cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome, resulting in death from severe pulmonary complications for 25 people, were probably caused by an immunopathological reaction to the 1976 vaccine.

that is a direct quote from CBS News, it didn't differentiate between strains, etc. ... I use Wikipedia a lot, too (but, ya gotta take their info with skepticism, sometimes) ... hard to believe ONE person died from that version of the flu, as it annually takes many tens of thousands of lives, EVERY year ... thousands of deaths from flu, is something that annually happens, but is just accepted, not heavily reported (I've never seen it broken down by strain) ... when ya get OLD, like 'some' of us :D, ya try to be aware of what's gonna do ya in :D ... guess it's one of those things we'll never really know, (or, know who to believe) ... :smokin:

Yeah, I'm not too keen on wikipedia either, but it's the same thing as CBS IMO... found an article on their website saying the exact same thing as the wikipedia article... Swine Flu Is Bad, But Panic Is Dangerous - CBS News (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/04/30/politics/otherpeoplesmoney/main4979595.shtml)

Anyways, IR, I know what you saying :) I have a hard time knowing who to believe myself :wtf: "history is written by the winners..." Right now, the winners are big pharma... who are in bed with all the major media outlets... that's no secret, you see prescription drug commercials on every channel, and anti-drug(cannabis) commercials on the same ones :twocents:

I FUCKING HATE THIS SWINE FLU BULLSHIT. OUR HOSPITAL HAS BECOME OVERRUN WITH IDIOT PARENTS THINKING THEIR KIDS HAVE SWINE FLU. HOLY SHIT PEOPLE, WAKE THE FUCK UP.

That being said, the only reason it's become such a huge panic is because people have died from it. In Mexico. Compared to other North American nations, Mexico isn't exactly the most sanitary...

I'm sorry, H1N1... It's not Swine Flu anymore.

You know how people said a black man would be president when pigs fly? Well, 100 days into Obama's presidency, swine flew!

BAHAHAHAHAHA
