First question i have is how much water should i give my plants? and how often should i give them water?.

My other problem is these tiny black flies that seem to be attracted to the wet soil and water.

I also have a 125w maxibright cfl lighting system which has a red spectrum
Is this good enough to grow two small top44 plants which are indicas?.
They are at the flowering stages. I think i have been over watering them.
I have them on 12/12 at the moment and i am at week two of flower.
Up until today i had been growing them under a 50w cfl and they not have atlest 5 - 6 flowers and show signs of sex. I had 2 females and 1 male so the male got put outside and have a hug with the lawnmower :(

I feed my girls only on rabbit poo tea and they seem to love it. This is my first grow as i am learning all the time :smokin:

I only have a few plants as they are for personal & medical use. I got fed up of being ripped off and given cheap Mexico type weed so i decided to grow my own and to be honest i love it. Its like a new hobby :smokin:

You should water your plants whenever the soil seems to feel dry about an inch down in the dirt...I usually stick my finger a good bit down in the soil to see if it still feels wet. When I water them I usually just give them enough to where as it gets a good runoff started and then I let it drain for like 45 min before putting back in my grow room. If you look at my first grow in my log I used my tub to water and drain my ladies and it worked out well for me!

And to answer the black flies question....From what I know the flies come from the soil already when you buy it...They are eggs and when watered by the grower they hatch because of the water and light, somewhat like a mosquito in water! Not sure really what you can do to control it other than cover the soil with some type of plastic or something to keep the light from hatching the eggs, but I find the little fu**ers are more annoying than anything, so I just use hand-to-hand combat to get rid of those little suckers!:stoned:

no one or no where online seems to have methods that can get rid of these flies so i got the vacume cleaner and sucked them all up and then took the top 1 inch of soil off and replaced it with sterilized soil.

Thos flies came from the soil i brought i should have Sterling it before my grow.

high bro, try top dressing your soil with diatomaceous earth.
you can find it at Lowes and Home Depot as well as most garden stores.
it cost's about $8.00 or so for a bag that will last years unless you're a
commercial grower.

what it is exactly is ground up shells, ground up into very tiny, very sharp
pieces which kill those fungus gnats (that's what those little flies are btw)
without harsh chemicals.

btw, unless you have a very severe infestation, those gnats are more a pain
in the ass rather than a real worry.
