Just want to say the support NORML had in DC this year was fantastic. So many people came out to support our cause and hopefully congress is listening.

Also on May 2nd Million Marijuana March in DC at noon. The march heads to Meridian Hill Park aka Malcolm X Park for a rally and concert.

Webb: Pot legalization â??on the tableâ?? in prison reform effort

The leader of a congressional effort to reform the criminal justice system said Thursday that all issues â?? including drug legalization â?? need to be on the table.

Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.), who has made criminal justice and prison reform a signature issue of his this year in Congress, is the most high-profile lawmaker to indicate openness to drug decriminalization or outright legalization.

â??Well, I think what we need to do is to put all of the issues on the table,â?� Webb said this morning on CNN if asked if marijuana legalization would be part of his criminal justice reform efforts.

â??If you go back to 1980 as a starting point, I think we had 40,000 people in prison on drug charges, and today, we have about 500,000 of them,â?� the first-term Virginia lawmaker said. â??And the great majority of those are nonviolent crimes â?? possession crimes or minor sales.â?�

Good news indeed for Virginia. Im tired of getting these dam migraines and not being able to to do anything about it. Virginia has been so strict on mj laws. Im glad someone representing VA (Senate) is finally taking some action.
