Hey all quick question before i make my light purchse.

My cabnet is 5' high 4' long 1' wide.. so thats 4sq feet/20 cubic feet

i was going to go with a Mh/Hps combo light/balset just unsure on the wattage i should use im going for 3 plants.. should i 240/400 or 600 watt setup? And also for ventalation would a basic intake/exaust be good enuff>?

Thanks in advance!

that space a 400,600 gonna be hell trying to cool that. Burn them plants up. Best to go 250W might still have trouble cooling good venting tho

1' wide is gonna be tough.

I'd say you are a prime candidate for some killer T5 lamps and some sort of LST.

i wouldn't put any HIDs in there.

1' wide is not near enough... you need at least 2 - 2 1/2 ft wide. I would look at building a fixture out of a couple of these Portfolio at Lowe's: 6-Light Chrome Traditional Vanity Fixture (http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=73448-43501-FV05-137-1&lpage=none)

Use 6500K 23W CFLs for veg, and 2700K 23W CFLs for flower. Makes a whole lot less heat, and produces some very nice results.

If you really are concerned about wanting to use HPS for your flowering, they also make 150W HPS I seen at Lowe's which I thought would go good for my grow, but I don't have the money nor the patience to rig that up so I just stick with CFL's! They produced some mighty fine bud on my last grow and it was fairly easy to keep the temps controlled with just an oscillating fan. Besides that the way I see it is, do whatever your comfortable with buddy, we're are all just here for some guidance and insight to anything you may need help with. If it's one thing I've learned since joining these forums is that the people here are all great people to get advice from, so just read as much as you can and enjoy your ladies as if they were your own child and they will treat you right I promise! So good luck and happy growing my friend!

Hey man, don't get down about the HID. You could definitely use them it's just going to require a concerted effort to keep it cool in that space. If you are dead set on using HPS, I would get 2 150w and run them in a straight line with some cooltube/air cooled hood to get rid of the heat. Take a look at the drawing i attached for clarification.

I think that'd work great. it just might be easier with T5s or CFLs. If you haven't checked out any CFL or T5 grows, i suggest you take a look. ICMag.com has a great micro grow section. Also check out their 150w HPS club. i think you'd be inspired by something in there.

My current closet is about the same volume wise... I can keep a 400w in there with a cooltube and 129cfm inline fan. The temps are on the high side but within range so... it's possible with the proper ventilation setup. I'd aim for a few more cfm's though.

For your dimensions it might be better to have 2 x 250w hps/mh in line like elskeetro's pic... but the growspace it's that great... ya know? Any chance for another growroom???

Again thanks for all this great info/ideas!

But atm no spot for another grow room. Till next year if this goes right (goint to be my first grow) so i think im goint to cut it down too two plants and Veg them with CLF . The cabnet isint done yetand wont bee for a bit maybe 2 weeks but after that im gunna monitor the temps in there before i decide on a bloom lamp!
