i have a 5-inch-long glass bowl/pipe. recently it was dropped and it chipped near the mouthpiece, it was usable following the chip even though a piece had broken off, you just had to make sure to steer clear of the sharp edge. recently, i glued the piece back on and later we used the bowl but for some reason we barely got high. it was just when you know youre not getting high. the buds we have been using i got about mid/late march and now it is april 19. while it has been a bit dry, we have gotten some great highs from the buds we had smoked before the bowl was dropped. i store my weed in a tin pirouette cookie container with a sealing top. i recently put the tin container in the refrigerator. i heard keeping your weed cold is beneficial. could the bowl be the issue in this situation or is it possible the weed has lost its potency even though we have experienced great effects from the same buds not too long before this?

unless you put wet buds into cold storage, nothing is going to happen, they will just get crispy like some people like them. freezing or chilling wet buds is not a good idea because they will get moldy. the only time it is OK to store wet buds in a cold place is when they are sealed in a freezer bag

as far as the pipe goes... a chipped mouthpiece shouldnt affect your ability to get high. unless it is somehow obstructing the path of the smoke into your lungs then i don't know whats goin on with your stuff

I think putting buds in the fridge is a bad idea. any moisture in the bud will freeze causing it to expand and damage everything from the bud to the cells in it. This includes THC and trpinoid cells, if totally dry then this should not happen however it is very hard to get your herb completely more than 97% dry. I think it was the fridge that brought down your potency, not the pipe. Either that or your tolerances went up.

How would putting something in the fridge make it freeze...

it doesnt "freeze" it.. but any water in the buds will not dry up as it normally would if it were just sitting around somewhere

the longer the buds are wet the higher chance they will get moldy, that is why proper curing is so important
