Saw a special on National Geographic channel about it. The guys who buried it lied and said it was 10', 1000 lbs, when it was more like scarlett said, which was 7-8', 800 lbs. Still pretty damn huge for a wild hog...

what i wanna know is WHY did they kill it?
"hey, look! there's something we've never seen before.. a miracle of nature.. a natural phenomenon... KILL IT!" =/
It's the human way bud, something that's never been seen before, hence; they shoot it. Much like our Chupacabra friend; http://www.woai.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=EBC8FC7B-ED5D-46A5-8DA4-3C6F6C31975E

that would be a fun catch for a few bulldogs! i've heard of a few breeders in the south talking about their dogs catching 800lb hogs, so it may not be too rare.
