Hi this is my first time growing and I am having a little problem. I have 3 plants and they all seem to be females? But I don't know I have been growing them outside for 2 months they are doing really well starting to get little hairs all over them but I don't know how to find out if they have the little balls or not! One I thought was a male but I don't know if the males have little hairs that come out of the flower buds or not? Some one please let me know I will post some pics to help.:rasta:

photos too blurry... why not do a google image search on male and female cannabis plants? then you'll know what to keep and what to reap.

I can tell you that since you put them outside 2 months ago they would probably start to flower since the light schedule is still over 12 hours of darkness. They should be reverting back to veg right now since the days are getting longer. Should be some monsters by September or October, which should be about harvest time.
Unless they are outflower, but I don't think they are.
Just read up, knowledge is power, I've been studying/reading for over 5 years and growing for over 3 and I still have stuff to learn.

I don't want them to be huge I am trying to keep them on the DL. They are right outside my house and I would like to keep them small, Will they still bud if I keep them trimmed down? They are already starting to flower,Guess I am lucky I got 3 females out of the bunch I heard it only takes 4 months to produce? I will keep reading up on them would just like some Good input from some people that have been growing for a while. How bad does the smell get? lol. Thanks to all who have gave some good advice. What is outflower mean?

If you trim them back it could be stressful to them and cause herm, but if you are living in the US the days are getting longer and there is no way they can be flowering without getting at least 12 hours of darkness which doesnt happen until around september october. A few small plants wont stink all that bad until they are midway through the flowering cycle and you have to be up close to them. outflower means nothing unless he means autoflower in which the plant will flower without needing the 12 hours of darkness.

well I don't know what you are meaning that If I live in the U.S. that my plant can't be flowering cause it isn't getting enough darkness, I live in south west florida, It gets dark around 8 and doesn't get light until 7 so they are getting almost 12 hours of darkness. My plant is flowering right now all 3 of them. There is white hairs coming out all over the plants, the buds are about the size of a nickel, and the plant stinks and is all sticky. I wish I could get some pics up here but I have a piece of junk camera.... :stoned::cool: But thats all for right now. I will keep all posted on the progress of my babies!

on the 2nd picture I could tell they were flowering.. not on the first though.. that's cool.. to be flowering in April makes you somewhat lucky. If you would've trained them before they started flowering you could have kept them short and bushy.. now trimming them would stunt growth and cause unneccessary stress.

thank you all for the help... what i ment by keeping them small was i am just cutting the leafs that make it look bushy... I have not took anything off the top just the sides... Hopefully this will not stress the plant... She seems to be flowering nicely. I posted a vid of the smallest flower cause i had to remove the little flower in order to get the vid of it.. Take a look and let me no what you think... Thank you all for your help..

Hey for all those who live in fl and have been growing outside I have been checking the times for sunrise and sunset. The sun rises at 7:02 am and the sunsets at 7:54 pm. So we are getting 11 hours of darkness perfect for flowering! In my book,LMAO. How long does it usually take before you can harvest since my plants are already flowering? I have read up on the subject but not making any sense to me when I read it can anyone explain to me how I know when to dry out my plants and pick the buds?

Ok buddy, listen up. Now that it is spring, going on summer, the days WILL get longer and your plants are going to revert back to their vegative state BECAUSE the days are getting longer and nights are getting shorter.
If you wanted short plants you should plant them in July. Typical growing season is from May to October give or take. Planting them in Feb. doesn't mean they will finish in June. It just doesn't work like that.
And autoflowering does mean something!! It means they will flower regardless of the light cycle. Do some research on light cycles and you may have a better understanding.

THANKS for the info lit it up,
If they do go back to the veg stage, what happens to the flowers that have already started? Are they going to keep growing or are they going to stop? Would it be a good idea to bring them inside to insure 12 hours of complete darkness.

hey, Yes I would take those plants and bring them inside and finish flowering under 12/12, It will take about 8 weeks in all,(most of the time), then I did order seeds I forgot what company, Look for the seed banks-good and bad thread, these people know, It only took a week to get my seeds. So then you can start new plants outside, but put them in a place less traveled and read up about LST, your plants can grow low to the ground that way, Im a newbie myself and really don't know to much, Like transplanting now the older ones might just strees them too much, but you are going to have 10ft plants there by sept-oct, I live in the keys for the winters myself so I know the climate. Here in the NE, it's June before we can get outside- last year from june 1 to oct 15, I had one plant,LST under a bush, and Got 6 oz. Good luck in whatever you do. take er easy, Buzz

I just repotted my plants now bringing them in at 7 so I ensure that they get 12/12 Started giving them organic nutes. Water them with well water that doesn't run through a softner. Now into a week of flowering I hope they hurry so I can see how my buds smoke, Next going to get some bubblelicious gonna try that and keep them inside to see how much different of a grow I get. Inside VS outside... I want to thank everyone for all their comments and help. Will post pics soon.

Got to try that LST looks great on other pics I have seen gonna need more space in order to keep the bush. Don't know about the Outside growing anymore, To many cops and people like to patrol my neighbor hood.

yea, sometimes it's parinoia, thats why I planted under a bush outside, I did that for 3 years but the bush is dead now so I don't know, as for inside It's really kinda crasy right now, there has been 3 inside grows busted in the area in the last 8 weeks, that's in STINKEY"S area too! Well the 2 in one town had over 100 plants but the one in the other only had 20, that what's scarry, Must have been just kids talking too much I figuried. Buzz
