I never thought I've have this issue...but Power Plant...is growing/ has grown too tall.

She is in a 4.5 gallon "cat liter" bucket, holes drilled in it of course. Day 30 of expected 49-60. Lots of very hairy white buds.

Plant was a mother and has five main branches, was put into Flower zone at 24 inches (of plant) and now, with the pot height, she's about six ft, with less than 16 inches to the ceiling.

600 hps in a cool tube with no reflectors (mylar ceiling, angled) so right now she is kind of beside the light and I turn her daily to expose different sides ...there are also 5 other plants of a more reasonable size. So my thoughts on this/options are:

1) I have lateral room...in the flower room. I could move her far to the right and put a bank of T5's flush with the ceiling, or even vertically mounted on the wall. I worry about penatration of this huge plant.

2) I could move her lateral and attempt to tie down, weight, use wire to brace open the five main branches to try to LST at this stage of the game?

3) I hate to touch the roots at this stage of the game...but one thought was to transplant into a wide, but shallow pot. To split the vertical root ball, pull it outward

4) I could do nothing dramatic, hope for the best, and if things hit critical...I could cut top buds off pre-mature...

I have zero experience with LST or tying branches down.

Thanks for reading/ commenting on long post.

I think you should be able to bend it over GENTLY. Most of the stretch should be done, now it will put on weight. I never grew PPP but have heard it gets huge. Be careful to only bend it over a little at a time so you don't stress it too much. You can either tie it down or use weights on a string to hold it in the bent over position.
Or, another idea might be to prop up your pot on one side so it is on an angle.
good luck:thumbsup:

I snapped ...not one ..but, five white widow stems just below the the cola trying to bend them over away from the light bulb...(about 4 weeks into flowering).. I didn't do anything about it. In about a week the stem and cola just slowly made a U-turn back up towards the 400 watt HPS light.

It's not something I would recommend doing...but if it happens...don't panic......they finished just fine...with a 140 degree U-turn in the stem...go figure?..:)

I bend the branches shortly after her watering, they bend much easier, then ... IF a branch snaps off, quickly dip the ends in water, and tape it back together, will usually be fine ... :smokin:
