This is my first time with a grow - I did tons of research beforehand and decided to "rough it" with the most minimal investment I could make. Lights are CFLs 300 watts total and a simple HPS security light - 70 watt. I started in Feb. I kept the lights on for 24 hrs, and brought them up to about 20 inches. Went to 12/12 4 weeks ago...killed 2 males and discovered I had 6 females - apparently no hermies.

I really approached this as sort of an experiment to "see if I could". The setup is simple 10 and 12 inch pots with 50/50 potting and topsoil. Im using high P nutes because they are flowering nicely. Maybe some of you could tell me how they look - as I said, I'm a newbie at it - Damn I'm impatient too! The girls are now between 23 and 30 in tall, how long till harvest? Any guesses as to yield?

Opinions? Comments?

They look very nice :greenthumb:

Also, probably a hybrid, maybe a little more sativa than indica (from what I can see in the leaves), so expect at least 8 weeks flowering time, probably more like 10 with your lights... could be even longer... check the trichomes with a min. 30x pocket microscope (radioshack), that's the only way to know when they are done. Patience and you shall be rewarded generously

CONGRATULATIONS ! ... not just for your success, but for having the good sense to do your research BEFORE buying expensive seeds, etc ... it's disheartening, reading newbies hollering HELP !, after they spent money, and put seeds in the soil, without doing any real preparation ... you did it right, good work

GROWERS THAT READ, SUCCEED ! :D

Thx for your kind replies - to be honest these girls smell so good and are positively covered in crystals....why would I want to spend money on seeds? The seeds came from a nice mid grade, green, smelly, with a good head. Arent regular ol seeds good enough?

Just about everyone I know, myself included, has at some point taken regular old bagseed, grown it, and ended up with a product that was tastier & more potent than the batch it originated from. If the bag that it came from was a pretty heady, but was obviously a haphazardly grown outdoor cashcrop, then there's a good chance that, with some extra TLC commonly exhibited by indoor growers, you'll end up with something more potent than the original.

Keep reading, there's always something new to be learned... drying/curing is a very important step that you'll be trying soon. And congrats, hope it treats ya well!

Here they are a week later - I slightly overnuted one of the girls and been flushing her w fresh water - You can shes yellowed. Her color seems to coming back but I see shes hurt. Im puzzled though cause the others are doing well and they are all getting the same mix. Ph is on the money too.
