hey killa, have you seen any albinos come through? the reason that i ask is because one of the WH are starting to grow some super light yellow, almost white leaves. on a few they are the entire leaves, and on a couple it's just parts of the leaves. i'll get you some pics shortly.

I doesnt take that long......maybe about 3-4 hours a week, now that i have it completely dialed in!

Well back from vacation and the plants look good! Everything is still alive and we are right on schedule! Trust me! I drew diagrams had every gallon of nute solution mixed and labeled....it took about a 1/2 hour but to come back and my plants are perfect....i could ask for anything else!

18 Gal. Rubbermaid Grow....The 4 plants will begin flushing on friday and probably will be flushed for 2-3 weeks.....The moondawgs are doing ok....one stretched and the other is staying squat....i could care less...these were the only cuts i had ready and they are only testers anyways

Tent....everything is looking good....i got a few wind burnt leafs from the fan on full blast.....but just fan leafs.....and i rather deal with the occational wind burnt leaf then mold so the fan stays on full blast pointed toward the plants....these are at 4 weeks now exactly but these will have to go an extra week because of the topping probably about 68-70 days!~

hempy's aren't that difficult deleafer. just make sure you have a PPM meter and a pH meter!!!

i use a 50/50 mix. i'm not saying that that is the best mix, just what i've started with as of now. this is my first go-round with hempy's.

keep in mind that perlite acts like a wick and the vermiculite has a tendency to retain the water/nutes.

i use 1 gallon milk jugs that i've electrical-taped up. 1 gallon is supposed to be the sweet spot. i put a 1 1/2 inch hole (i think) about 1 3/4 inch up from the bottom. i don't know the exact measurements as i'm not at home. use a piece of screen or something so your medium doesn't wash out. some say they don't have problems, but i have.

there is my two cents.

as soon as i can i'll start a log documenting my hempy experiences.

Currently no PPM meter but its on my christmas list along with some decent genetics either CH9 like Killa has mentioned or DNA Genetics (Hope i was good this year)... and I have several 1 gallon dressing containers from work that look like they will work fine... Hanna pH meter should be here this weekend i think..Have had bad luck with Light leaks and males so need to light proof before anything.. One question for you or Killa is in your opinion which works better coco or vermiculite considering they are both just about Neutral Mediums ? Also (sorry to ramble on) do you guys fill the container up to the hole with perlite before adding Both mixed together , or just fill the whole thing with the mix ?

I think you got it totally backward shake....the perlite retains water; the vermiculite works as the wick!

I think 50/50 is not a good mixture at all....i think it would be to dense and not allow proper air flow and oxygen....just my opinion! I also dont think a PPM is neccasary if you kinda know the your feeding them is not to high! PH pen is a must....i would even try hempy's without a ph pen.....no drops...PH PEn ONLY......you want to be in that 5.8-6.0 range to allow all the nutrients to be availible to the plant!

never tried coco....so i have no clue...there is a large hempy thread on IC which all different methods are used....i just stick with the origanal 4:1 mixture and all is good! Hope that helps deleaf.....and i just fill the whole container with the mixture....no layers here!

you know the strains you are running, obviously. you have your own blend of nutes for christ sake. but if you are growing multiple strains, perhaps such as WH (which doesn't like too high of nutes) and other strains then a PPM meter will definitely come in handy. again, not arguing, but i wouldn't tell someone to start trying hempys without one, so that was my opinion! especially when one can be had for $20 or less, there is really no excuse not to have one. you can save that in your containers or elsewhere.

Ok so I've decided to do a 3:1 on the (per/verm) mixture in 1 Gallon buckets as a test trial with bag seed till I get $$ for good genetics.
This way i can see which ratio i will run on next one.
No ppm but deff a better pH method (drops as of now :()
with most likely GH nutesand will try to find a way to get RO water

Your probably right shake on the perlite and verm. as far as which one is for water retention and which one acts as the wick..... ive just gotten a few plants from my friends where the mixture is like 60/40, 50/50, or even 40/60 and they all dont seem to grow the same as the origanal 80/20 im used to!

I dont know what jrosek ran in the thread but i know he runs 100% perlite now, and even he has modified his system recently using all tables of perlite with containers! He is still running the bogglegum(regis cut) which i have a mom in veg right now to stagger in to see if i can get the numbers he gets!

As far as a PPM pen.....yes they are cheap.....yes i do think every grower that take this hobby at least a little bit serious should have one! But is it neccassary with Hempy Buckets.....I dont really think so! Ive gotten by 2 years without one.....got one.....figured out in one or two uses my nute mixtures were to high......figured out a better regime.....never used it again!

I dont think running a variety of strains has anything to do with it! As you see.....im running:

Which range from sensitive to massive heavy feeders.....But if your gonna be playing with your nute mixtures.....Its manditory that you have a PPM!

For people that want a easy nute mixture that really wont burn any plants.....then i would suggest running Lucas Formula with either GH or AN! Run a bloom Blooster in flower and you will never have a problem with a plant's nutes!


and shake, your talking to a person with no ego....please constructive disagreements will always be welcome in this thread....now and forever...im no master and i learn new things everyday from people like you and the rest of the forum! :thumbsup:

i hear you loud and clear brother! i'm the same way withe the constructive disagreements. we are always learning! that's part of the beauty and fun of what we do.

with the clones i just took and will be taking, i plan on putting one of each into different mixes for science's sake. lol. i know you are running a 600W to my 400W but your PW after 10 days was crazy. so i would say that there is definitely something that works with your mix. and like you said, it's probably the oxygen getting to the roots. too much verm and the medium get's pretty dense and heavy and stays wet longer, hence me not watering every 2-3 days and like you are. could be all the difference right there. i'll make sure to post my findings. i'm pretty sure that you are close to right on the mark!

and i hear ya loud and clear on the PPM meter. i've been running your nute regimen and it seems to be working nicely. i'm trying to burn through this fox farm that i have left and move on to something else.

i appreciate all of the info and criticism and whatnot. i would never take offense to such things either. sometimes people interpret what is written in a way that it was never meant to be. it's hard to judge inflections and whatnot when reading text.

anyway, sorry for rambling. check out my hempy log, you know i need the help. the DBP is beast! i think it's male (it just started throwing preflowers) which is fine because it will be a good breeding dad. i've still got a few of those beans to run so i know i'll get a good female mom from them. thanks again!

Like i promised yesterday! Here's an update!

Thanks for all the complements and views.....if you want to be included in my christmas giveway....here's the guidelines:

Everything is just moving....i think i got about 3-4 weeks left in the tent.....everything looks great....Im gonna add a humidifier here in the next week to try to combat mold situations i found during my last run in the tent.....it was the first time not pointing the fan directly on the plants...i was getting wind burnt leafs but i rather have that then mold!.....i think pointing the fan right on the plants again will solve the last grows problems but i can never be to safe now! Look for the large purple tree in the back right corner....trust me...she is bigger in person....That is my bulk cut!

Both rubbermaids are nothing special at this point....the 22 gal has 4 WW plants on the left/ 4 Pk x PR f2(Bulk) on the right....these will be flowered tonight....the 18 gal has 6 Pk x PR f2(white) which will be flowered on Friday!

Sound like a nice cross....im still waiting for another cut of black haze till i try a purple haze recreation but its still inline! Ive heard nothing but great things about grape ape....i even had some cuts of it but they never made it! Cant wait to see the project!

Everything is just moving....i think i got about 3-4 weeks left in the tent.....everything looks great....Im gonna add a humidifier here in the next week to try to combat mold situations i found during my last run in the tent.....it was the first time not pointing the fan directly on the plants...i was getting wind burnt leafs but i rather have that then mold!.....i think pointing the fan right on the plants again will solve the last grows problems but i can never be to safe now! Look for the large purple tree in the back right corner....trust me...she is bigger in person....That is my bulk cut!

Well as the year comes to a end, so is this run!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and planning for a VERY SAFE NEW YEAR!

Everything is one schedule, if not a little ahead at this point....In the beginning of the log; i assumed topping stressed the plants about a week but i was slightly wrong! It definetly stressed the PK x PR which is about 7 days behind her normal harvest date but its worth it! So on for the show!

The tent(day 61 flower) been getting flushed for a week now and the tops will be harvested on monday or weds. next week; Ill let the bottoms go for another week despite looking pretty rip at this point....One thing i like about the Purple Wreck is the plant seems to start maturing from the bottom up which is a characteristic i havent really seen from any other strain ive run..Right now the tricome are about 40% Amber on the tops 25% on the bottoms!

The Mini Micro Box is just about done as well....The 6 Purple Wrecks on the sides will begin flushing on friday.....2 weeks of flushing.....>The moondawgs are about 3-4 weeks out! They smell just like good bubble hash.....not much bud but the plants were nothing to begin with....ill run her in the tent this coming run to see how she really is!But she shows major potential and the herb looks sick for being 4 weeks till harvest! The close up's are the moondawg

15 WW (One being my WW mom)
3 Purple Kush x Purple Rhino f2 (2 Bulk Cuts(including the mom), 1 White cut(mom)

Those are Jiffy Pellets with the screen removed in regular hempy mixture(4 pts. perlite/ 1 pt. vermiculite).....and the sog is 22 plants in one gallon buckets(hempy buckets)!

Vermiculite is very hard to find! I ONLY BUY THE HUGE 4 CU. FT. BAGS which makes it even harder to find I used to be able to find it at the HD closest to you. (which was the only HD that carried it) Now they dont sell it anymore. Your not going to like this answer but i get my vermiculite in Homestead! The very last exit on the turnpike! Exit 1 there are 2 stores just west of the exit that sell farm supplies...They sell sell it for $7. for 4 cu ft....which typically last me a year! They also sell 4 cu ft. bags of perlite for $9....I usually buy 5 bags at a time...and it will last me a year!......I knew you wouldnt like the answer!

Tons of stores carry the small bags but i think they are like 8 qts....ill take a pic of the bags i need they are huge! I would use one of those small bags per bucket per run would kill the price of a grow for me (30x4) $120 per run in just vermiculite! i get about 8 runs out of a large bag which is like total of $4-6 per run total (with the cost of perlite in the total) of growing medium which is like 30 GAL. of mixture! I like to Save as much money in growing as i can, considering i dont grow that much despite what people might think 1.5 lbs for 2 months is not that much herb to smoke! it cost me about $175 per run total for my grow including the cost of electricity so at the end of the day its worth it for me! Good luck on your search!

I agree 1.5lb ain't nothing for me! I can smoke easily a qtr bag a day if I wanted too! :thumbsup:

sometimes (not always) a reddish/purple color at that spot indicates a phosphorus def. obviously that is not that case here as vaped pointed out.

i think the beans were dbp because of your lucky with the WH....the ww x santa maria...goes about 70 days...high yielder and ive been told by the person from which i got it....its the fav. for potency at his co-op

a whole bunch of seeds! Some time, patients and a lot of love.....its easy....find some purple seeds, or find a particular strain you like that might have a purple pheno and start breeding.....nothing to it....im no professional....just a high bastard chuckin some pollen here and there!

never ran any other purple other than the ones you seen in this log....this has pretty much been all the purple ive ever grown except the plants used to make this strain....not much to have seen other than 10 plants...4 males and 6 female..of purple which is where this journey got its start!


Bubble Hash making!

Even though im not a commercial grower myself; ive grown up amongst them my whole life...This year i took a different approach to sourcing quality trim.....asking to buy garbage bags filled for $150! Everyone asked why would i want to buy trash for $150?

I told them to make hash....i stated that im really good at making all types of hash and it would be worth it to me to buy there trim! They asked to see what the hash looks like, because these arent the people that even know how to turn on a computer let alone research differnt hash making methods...showed them the hash....didnt have to pay for the trim but i do have to share the hash.....I said no problem....

2 friends just finished harvesting, one gave me a small trashbag with about 1lb of nice sugar trim from the WW and PW that i gave him cuts.....

Made 78 grms of iso with it.....i still have about another 2 oz worth of that trim to make into iso later

the other just gave me a box the size of a 24 gal rubbermaid full with ssh trim maybe about 3kgs worth...

Plus i just harvested and i have 3lbs of trim in the freezer which is gonna be make into bho! Im gonna be making hash 5 days a week until i finish all this trim....but my goal is to have a lb of iso, bho, and bubble by my birthday in feb.

The funny thing is the person i made the iso for has my second set of bubble bags....i bookmarked the youtube video i use as a reference....and still he gave me the trim!

Heres a update:

The last run was a failure in my eyes....it came out to 522 grms.....I tried to dry it differently....it came out to dry....still dank....its in the jars curing for now.....ill post some pics during the week!

Heres whats going on as of yesterday!

The Tent has 20 plants...4 mothers i have in there are: PkxpR (both cuts), WW, PW........I also have 14 WW, 2 Moondawg, 1 PW, 1 pkxpr as well, The moms really didnt take to transplanting to well.....they are in shock...oh well....hopefully they snap out of it soon....Today is the second day of flowering! 5 day veg....most plants topped at 3rd day of veg

they are traits locked in the genetic code, they just need to be brought out. you can't make a plant do something that it's not genetically coded to do. they are probably recessive traits that manifest in certain phenos when environmental factors allow.

Id have to say the majority of the purple in the cross comes from Dr. Load Purple Rhino....its the most purple strain ive ever seen and i was lucky to be gifted some of these and some other of his tester beans some while ago!

you're breeding skills speak for themselves IMHO. it was only 2 of the 15 seeds you gave me so far......and they were F1s so again, nothing to worry about there. they should so a wide variety of variety (if i'm not mistaken). so they are nice, just need to be stabilized back to a parent. you obviously know what you are doing so again, i can't blame the breeder.

and i knew that wasn't a shot at me as you've shown me nothing but love!

Well sorry for not being around as much lately....My son had strep then i got it, while processing all this trim.....broke another set of sprung bags...getting sick again....oh did i mention im leaving my grow again.....right before im about to harvest or right after....i cant determine yet the duration of this grow based on the lack of tricome color at this point...

22 gal rubbermaid....so far no problems in here....the WW looks like she is starting to bulk up...id have to say the purple has about 3-4 weeks left the widow probably 4-5 weeks left....i like to run the WW to around 70-77 days for that ultimate couchlock....hope you like the bat as a size reference...this is 130w cfls.

-Bestie Bloomz in the thrid week of flowering or IF I NEED TO STOP THE VERTICAL GROWTH OF THE PLANT...this stuff will almost stop the growth in its tracks...Sometimes i use this earlier in flower to prevent possible height problems.
Cha ching- till i flush...usually for a minimum of 4 weeks...

And i cant really help you on the heavy feeder issue....i really just run them at 1000 ppm and see what happens...due to the different stages of the plants its hard for me to get too technical on the feeding...even though i know my yeilds do suffer sometime cause of lazy feeding!

Hey question for you. I remember you told me that running the Purple W you like to go about 65days or so, do you ever just not get amber trichs? I am trying not to let mine get over ripe but want couchlock and don't see anything other then Milky trichs at day 46 of flowering. How early can some strains finish compared to that same strains usual flowering time? That OG Black looks like a keeper!

I never flush....only at the end of my grows.....i use to have to flush once in a while during flowering, but that was because id never calibrate my PH pen....Now i calibrate it once a week during the times im mixing my nutrients... Since then, ive never flushed during a run!

Alright well..it's deff looking like some nute burn now tips are yellowing and edges..and with the MG im trying to use up and tending to burn plants i might just flush to be sure..still no pH pen but going to local store this week for one..might be a pH problem ?

THe purple will be chopped will be chopped on 2/25....the widow will be chopped a week later! When i get back from vacation!

They are actually 5 deep....lol....and ive stated this plenty of times.....its a PITA....not really....Im kinda young...and limber..Plus the fact that im 6`1 and have very long arms doesnt hurt...I open the tent on all three sides so i have access to the sides of the tent as well as the front...Since the plants are really tall this run....I have no problems feeding the plants this run from the front only but i still use the same routine as posted below...ive watered from the front once or twice when lazy though!

I start from the left side....since the fan is on this side 3 plants are missing....this gives me access to to the middle row and the center plant...

Since there is only 7 plants on this side....I water those seven plants plus the back three plants(including center plant) in the middle row with the empty space created by the fan....

Then to the front where i water the front 6 plants, then i work to the back and water the six plants on the right side....It takes about 20-30 min..to water...it takes 3 gallons a feeding....each 4 plants getting about 1/2 gallon total

Wow Killa very very nice. Im curious and I know your probably explained this to someone else but i cant find it. WTF are hempy buckets. From your pictures they look like rubbermaid totes. Big ones. Then you Grow the plant inside it with the bucket training the plant, the tops come higher and its sorta like a SOG...but in a buckets. What I cant see is, do you have them in some sort of container at the bottom which you put water in and it absorbs the water from the bottom??? Thanks alot.

Well im back from my vacation....a few bruised or cracked ribs....dislocated my shoulder within the first 10 min...sore as hell....but i had one hell of a time...Cant wait till easter then i think ill go snowboarding again!

Well heres a update....harvested the purple plants...started a new breeding project.....gonna have some new strains coming to view as well here in the next few weeks....One that i really cant wait to run is my friends Purple Wreck x White Widow which is my Purple Wreck male and his WW which is the same cut in the pictures below...If i tell you his cross is like 3x the size of my WW and has the PW smell! Its unbelievable....im just gonna have to show you! Other than that i have a few problems in the tent....the purple moms are growing like shit! ONe PW and one Pk x PR will be removed this week because of lack of growth and replaced with another moondawg and Banana OG Kush....both which are my mothers!

WTF are hempy buckets.

Hempy is pasive hydroponics. fill a pail with medium (Perlite or perlite/vermiculite or coco/perlite, etc. Drill some 1/2" holes in the sides, 2" up from the bottom of the pail. Water until overflow (you have to catch the overflow so it isn't a mess). Use hydro nute schedule.

Here's the girl at 25 days into flowering.....I plan on hitting her with pollen starting day 40 and hit her everyday for 30 days straight to make sure the cross takes!

This plant has been vegged for 8 days in a 1 gal bucket, grown under 6 - 23W CFL's

looking great killa, per the usual. can't wait to see the cross action.....and i hope to get to work with it as well. lol. speaking of, i'm flowing some death by purple right now, she's about at day 41 or so. how long do you recommend? she's got the same smell as the WH.....but she is completely purple! every bit of bud on the plant is deep, dark purple. i know purple has to do with nothing but eye appeal, but it is a beautiful plant. i think it's the contrast of colors that makes it so beautiful. anyhow, sorry for rambling, i'm blazed on some of irydyum's church and a.m.s.!

i always look at tric color......ive taken her down anywhere from 49-71 days based on maturity.....she usually goes about 63 days though in most cases but there are faster phenos and the lighter ones take longer!

Glad you like the color bro.....sorry you had to go threw the mutants to find a nice purple one but then again thats why i dont sell seeds

it's all gravy! this is a DBP as opposed to the WH though, but i hear ya. i hear ya about the trichs. this one is kinda light on the weight, with a low bud to leaf ratio, not that i'm complaining. so i guess that means that it can still run about 3 more weeks and might feel out.

man, i just harvested that dbp that was in the flower tent. it is so deep purple that it almost looks cranberry. i'll get some pics up when she's cured.
