i cant seem 2 figure this out and i havent even bought anything or thought of anything so this is completely up in the air...
(i want 2 use t5's inless there is somthing else i should be using) but yea anyway

my room will have

- 3-5 mothers
- 20-30 clones

questions

1.how many lights will i need.. for example (4 40w 40'' t5's)
2. how big should i make this room(i can make it small or as big as 5ftv5ftx10ft room)
3. will i need 2 use any ventilation for this room?

... dunno if this matters but i read that u should let yr plant grow till 2/3 of its final high b4 putting it in flowering room and im looking at for 80-100g a plant dry

you're gonna need a LOT more fluorescent tubes, for that many plants ... fluorescent lamps don't penetrate the canopy, you have to keep those tubes within an inch, or so, from the tops of the plants ... T5s, you maybe get away with another inch (I used a sixteen-lamp T-10 array for years) ... you definitely need a lot more tubes for that amount of coverage ... my 16 x 40-watt tubes were in a 2' x 4' x 6' cabinet ... when I switched to a 400-watt HPS, the improvement was staggering ... ventilation is something that is necessary, regardless of how you grow, it almost can't be overdone ... you also want to allow space for a 24-hour, oscillating fan (makes for strong stems, and keeping buds dry) ... good luck, whichever way you go

i haven't had the guts to use ONLY my 4ft4bulb T5 for my mommies. presently i, also, utilize a 400w halide (minipulsar model).

i put my "clone" dome either 4 feet away from halide, or 2 feet under the T5, to the side.

one of these days i will turn off the halide, and see what happens with T5 only. if i were to try this, i'd switch out the 4bulber for my 6bulb4ft T5 fixture. and add another. i find that when i turn off the halide and only have the T5 on, it seems dark, lol.

i find that the T5 is GREAT for vegging in 4" pots until i transplant into 2, 3 or 5 gal pots using ocean forest potting soil, and send to flower zone.

i recently switched from fox farm nutrients, to humbolt organics.

i hope for a yield of 300-400g per meter squared. i use 2 600 sodiums, and one 400 sodium for flower time.

i think two T5 will work for you as long as you keep the moms' height under control, and rotate them around throughout the week.

always remember this about ventilation...
