Hey guys, new here, long time smoker though.
I was just wondering why different strains of MJ give you different highs? For the longest time I would only get the usual high, you know, giggly, happy, red eye'd, munchies, all that good stuff. But nowadays, it seems like every different type of weed has a different type of high,
for example,
a few times when i smoked, i got a "cartoon" high, i wasnt giggly or hungry, but i had tunnel vision, and everything that the sun light hit was glowing, and i mean GLOWING, like the sidewalk was glowing and lighting up the grass in my lawn. and it seemed like when i walked, i wasnt moving, like i was walking on an endless treadmill, but the scenery around me kept moving.

another time when i smoked, i was sitting still in my house on a lazy boy chair with all the lights on, and it seemed like every object in my room such as the TV or the computer, would move by themselves, back and forth, away from me then really close.

I know there are many different strains of MJ, and about the differences between Sativa and Indica, but i thought that either way, its the THC that gets you high. So why have i experienced many different types of highs?

Ive noticed this but I always thought it had to do with what kind of mood I was in before I smoked and what I was doing.

Maybe somebody else knows?

different strains, even individual plants, have varying ratios of THC, CBD, CBN etc. ... the combination of these components give a wide range of effects, plus the maturity of the plant, and it's trichomes, offer still more variations ... you seek out the plant that gives you the desired effects for your situation ... :smokin:

there's hundreds of compounds in marijuana, that have varying influences, a lot are still unknown ... but, the THC, CBD, and CBN, are the main ones, you can Google up some info on them :smokin:

Aloha,

You will be busy for a while. :D
Besides the mix of CBD and CBN, THC has more than one isomer.
Different isomers have different effects.
I like Delta-9 personally.:stoned:

Other variables are time of harvest, curing method, length and temperature of storage, etc.

Easiest to personally control, is time of harvest.
Cut them young and it's generally cerebral and "uppity".
Wait a while and it's more of a body stone.
Wait a tad longer and you'll have "couch lock"

Yep, can-o-worms. But worth the study time.

Also, every single high will be different due to the events that led up to the time that you light up. Trichome development is where it's at when it comes to different types of highs, if you grow your own, you can choose the different effect that you desire from your grow, such as mind high or body high, indica or sativa. many many variables to choose from that have an overall effect on the high you recieve. marijuana is an amazing plant.
