The last few days iv just been bummin around looking at old pictures, and its starting to get to me. Its crazy how fast your life can change! One year ago today i was in a totally different state, with a totally different mind set, and totally different set of goals. I wish i could go back and not move. At the time i thought it was a horrible town with nothing to do, little did i know that town was full of shit to do and i had the best group of friends ever.

I just keep reading my favorite quote over and over again....
"Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again, but life goes on."

well on that note, my favorite quote is "If you don't know where you're going, any road will get you there." It's by Lewis Carroll, the guy who wrote Alice in Wonderland. It's my favorite quote, my motto I guess... but it seems to be working out.

I've really changed my direction 180 degrees a couple times over the last 40 years when it comes to being tolerant of drugs. I've always been a conservative but for about 20 years I was adamantly against any talk of legalization till about 5 years ago. Then I educated myself a little and saw that I was being a patsy of the conservative party.

I know exactly what you mean.

Last year this time I was a Contractor, remodeling peoples homes, this is all I've been doing for the last 10 years, and I'm 31, so this is most of all I know.

Who would've guessed that the economy would turnout this way, now I haven't had any work for the last 10 months. It's fucken weird the way life goes, sometimes it feels like it's never over.

And now, I took some classes and I'm making a new career out of providing patients with their medicinal marijuana, tell you the truth, I'd rather be doing construction.

When you've lived nearly 60 years, looking back is a double-edged sword. Remembering somethings is good, and forgetting somethings is even better!! :D

Glad you made it back, higher4hockey. Do your best "to be here now". The past, we can't change. The future is uncertain, at best. There is only the "now".

Man, i hear this loud and clear.

I'm only 27, but the last 6 years of my life have each been vastly different.

Often my wife and i will think back and say "remember when we used to do this" or "remember when we used to hang out with so-and-so".

I've done a lot of growing up and discovering for myself. And i imagine when i'm 30 i'll say "what a dumb kid i was at 27" and i'll probably say the same when i hit 40.

I just hope there's never a day when i say "remember when i used to grow weed?" I hope it's just "remember when i started..."

And i hope there's a day when we can all say "remember when we had to hide all this stuff, and be afraid?" then we'll all pass the joint in the middle of a busy plaza and no one will even bat an eye.

ugh,
skeet.

well i know what you mean there, a year ago i was also living somewhere else and had totally different aims to those i have today, the difference i guess is that i have just moved back to the town i should never have left and the friends i was missing are now living down the road. it can be tough knowing what to do or where to be in life, but if we stayed stagnant too afraid of doing the wrong thing we'd miss out on far more. i hated my life a year ago and i look back now and i'm glad i have changed things and i know i've done it in the best way i could but there are small things that i miss from my shit life mainly a couple of people as i still dont rate the place. but sometimes we have to sacrifice things to make necessary improvements in life and sometimes we have to go back to go forwards.

hope things work out well

I can't wait for that.. When all the naysayers and prudes will have to accept it and move on with their mundane lives.

And Trip... you might be more approachable if you didn't have a dead bird as your avatar. Just saying.
