This is my first grow
i am just growing for personal use
i am using Miracle-Grow potting soil
i have one bigger one and 9 sproutlings
The big one i found march 25 in my back yard, it almost died from what i am guessing shock
i had to clip some leaves cuz the were dying as u can see on the 2 big leaves
the babys were born on march 30 2009
I germinated the seeds in a moist paper towel and the all sprouted out of the ground at the same time
2 of them are growing very fast
i will post more pics every 2 weeks and u guys could prolly help:thumbsup:

They look good so far... the big one is making a nice recovery for sure

BUT, you should get those seedlings into individual cups ASAP, before the roots get tangled. You don't want them competing for food, light, and water. Clear plastic cups aren't good, because the roots don't like light. You can cover up the sides or get them in more appropriate containers. Also, the big one is sitting too low in the pot. You can get stagnant air and that could lead to problems. MG potting soil is usually too hot for seedlings (ok for mature plants), and they would do better in a seedling starter mix for the first couple weeks... but maybe too late for that. Hopefully they will make it...

Other than that, keep us updated!

One of the sproutlings died:(
that kinda upset me
i still dont know if i should have tried to top off the big one
i might have tried it too early
its been like 6 days and has still not split
it seems like it is working on just the leaves were the stem and the branches meet
becouse they are getting pretty big:rastasmoke:

also, drag the dead plant material (pine needles, leaves, etc.) out of there, decaying plant matter tends to attract insects ... :smokin:

Really??
Cuz i heard that the pine needles act as a mulch.
It keeps moisture in.
Also it helps camoflage the containers into the surrounding
just in case someone wonders by.
And how do cop helicopters find plants?
