most efficient per square foot without going over kill & robbing lumens.

not to mention Amp usage. much larger draw of Amps and it would have to run on 220v like a normal clothes dryer does which in turn would be more of a PITA!! (Pain In The Ass)

Have a nice day!! :smokin:

I understand that it wouldnt be practical for a home grower.
I was just wondering why they dont seem to exist period.

Can you go into more detail on those 5000 watt bulbs? How exactly are they powered etc.

That sounds really crazy, and interesting.

peace.

.... a 5000watt bulb would take a 41-45 amp service to run @ 110-120V... or 20-22 amps @ 220-240V

PS. Your 'average' modern home today gets 200 amps @ 220-240V, while an older home may only have 40-60amp service... and your again 'average' household wall socket can only provde 15 amps @ 110-120V

In other words... a 5K watt bulb is going to use a metric f***ton of power

i can;t imagine this is effencient for growing at all
