Quick Home Made Fert?

Now ive been looking for something I could use for nitrogen for my plant at home...and I came across this on the web...Milk is said to do a body good, and milk is also good for plants. Milk contains the nitrogen-building protein that plants require. Give your plants a healthy dose of nutrient-rich milk by mixing one part milk and four parts water. Feed plants approximately one cup of this homemade fertilizer once a week for best results.

Have never heard of the milk fertilizer. Have used the eggshells though for my vegetables. They work good to keep the slugs out too.

wouldn't the milk create some sort of mold after awhile?

See thats what I thought too but your only suppose to do it once every 4 feedings so maybe you flush it out over time?

See ive been doing a little homework on this idea. The nitrogen in milk is bound-up in protein, but bacteria and fungi in the soil will break this down and
some of the nitrogen will be released as nitrate or ammonia. These nitrogen-containing ions can then be taken into the plant roots for growth. I think that im going to actually attempt this on my plant since its having a Nitrogen Deficiency, but for all you other people out there who are thinking about attempting this and you use sugar in your feedings then DO NOT I repeat DO NOT give them milk, it will encourage bacteria and fungus's to grow. For no im going to go with a ratio of 25% milk 75% so its going to be pretty diluted and im going to use skim milk to make sure no fat is in it ;)

Okay its 7:25pm PST right now and I just gave my plant its feeding with the milk......I shall post pictures over the next few days of the plant's progress while being fed milk, btw there are no other nutrients in my soil so we shall see how fun this gets =) ^_^
