Depends on a lot of things ....

Strain, seed, clone, hydro, dirt, space, lighting, etc, etc... personal needs and or wants may play a part.

A clone / cutting for example, as soon as the clone is rooted to months of vegetative growth.

if u have a good hydro system , and a fair # of clones 16+, flower 3 days after they root(flower=12/12 daylight)they will stretch to about 16" to 24",and be all bud i.e depending on the strain

if u want u can start them budding when ever u want. i wouldnt recomend starting them till they r bout 4weeks old, depending on space and strain u may want to start budding earlier so ur plants do not outgrow ur area.most strains roughly double in hight when flowering, so u may whish to take the distance from ur lights that they'll need 2b2prevent burning ur plants, if ur using hid bout 10inches is the closest they can b b4beggining to burn.floro's is bout 1-2inches.i have 2flower at different ages to take into account the stretch on the different strains. go to www.overgrow.com/strainguide to find a report on the strain u r using, this will tell you how much u can expect ur plants to stretch

You can put them on 12/12 anytime you want; it will just hurt your yield the smaller they are. It's best to wait till they have alternating nodes. They are mature then and ready to flower.

alternating nodes, r those like 4 branches that grow out of the first or second node?

Lets see if i can explain this right. It's when your leaves are opposite one another instead of straight across from each other. Like a stair step; one above the other. Hope this explained it ok.

A general rule for sheeva shanti 2 is 45-55 days
