Ok, i am sitting here reading all of these inquiries and what not and had an idea.

You get a grow tent, 400 watt HPS/MH, two trays to fit 6 planters each, air pump, water pump (?GPH), hydroton, rockwool, and a ph test meter.

Leaving out exquisite detail, i came up with the attached jpg

What do the pro's think?

I'm no pro but I can tell you that it looks like a great hydro setup. Well done.:hippy:

lol, i was bored and decided to click on the hydro thread:D 3 hrs later, i thought to myself, would this work.

Of course i have no idea where to begin. Some research has led me to say a top notch paid for system will cost in excess of $500, and most likely $750+ if you count all the stuff i left out.

How would one go about starting such an endeavor? I can design it, but the real question is, how do you make it grow:rasta:

One thing I would recommend getting...a PPM pen and you may consider using either RO or distilled water. I essentially did what you have set up there with an e&f system and three failed grow attempts later I've come here looking for answers. After learning about PPM and RO/distilled water I can't even imagine growing Hydro without that. Check out my recent post here to get somewhat of an idea http://boards.cannabis.com/plant-problems/169402-re-occuring-tip-burn-wall-text.html
I hope that helps you out some in your decisions!

My thought is 12 plants under a 400w light? I think you gonna need a bigger light. Both my cabinets are aprox 2'x3'x6' and it looks like the magic number of plants is 6, anymore than that and it is crowded to the point of no choice but to do prob more trimming than you really want and yeild is less since you cant let them "grow"

I was contemplating whether or not to use autoflowering dwarfs, which is my logic behind the 12 small planting things, instead of a big bucket.
