Plants = 2 Egyption sativa skunk grown from seed

Soil = Regular Potting Soil

Light = Outdoor / 600w HPS

Temps = 25 - 35 degrees celsius (77-95 Fahrenheit)

Ph = Steady between 6.0 - 7.1

Summary = They were vegged outdoor but since they have started flowering i put them under a 600w HPS and the buds are blooming as they we're not getting enough light outside plus cars lights where beaming on them at night etc.

Been under the lights/budding around a week long now a little bit into the second week. Gave them a shot of high Phosphorous Fertilizer right at the begging of flowering and now im just watering with mollassas and tap water and things are looking good :rastasmoke:

Sadly i knocked of a cola tripping over in there and have dried it and smoked it and its really really tasty and quite potent. Has a very unique smell but definatly resembles dank with a bit of a flowery and kind of sweet scent.

Got the seeds from my uncle who travels the world doing botany things and he palmed off some of these seeds to me, after smoking it im pretty sure its sativa, certainly looks it i think, one of the plants is quite tall and the other quite bushy, second one got FIMmed and the other one was left 'el natural' :rastasmoke:

I did have 3 but one just completely stuffed up so i cut the buds that had grown off, dried em up, smoked em up and they were ok, cause it was picked early wasnt very potent but a nice steady high. My gf named it "munty the music student" cause he was the munted up loser of the trio, women are so cold.. i loved him :(

Will keep this updated as im expecting harvest in 4 - 6 weeks sorry about the bad photos will have more up soon as these photos don't do them justice :stoned: they are very very stinky and very very crystally. trichromes still clear but many of them

i would love any tips, or questions, Peace

They look great! Nicely done so far

The temps are a little high, but they don't seem to mind. If the thermometer is directly in the light, it can show higher relative temps than they actually are. What are you using for ventilation?

Good luck!

Thankyou!

There very well ventilated with plenty of fresh air due to my location. Just using a standard free standing fan around 12" diameter on swing, blowing through the tops of the plants, plenty of moving and shaking :) the thermometers a cheapy to but its near the roots slightly shaded, thanks for the feedback!

Is it only on my pc or did those photos not work? ^

Yeah... didn't work. I had to highlight, cut, and paste the link part to see them. Next time, just click the blue ball looking thing with the paperclip under the smiley above your post box, and copy the link into that. Hope that makes sense...:D

Update

Plants coming along very nicely, they are on a flood and drain type system but im really not sure how much to water them they don't seem to be lacking in water at all but i just don't know if its enough, have been feeding them (sh!t gotta think imperial) around 50 fl. ozs? (1.5 liters) each roughly once a day? missing a day here and there. Pots are pretty much all roots so it drains really quickly. still maintaining 6.0 - 7.0 Ph Levels, they look like the need nutes but i really didn't want to give them much in the flowering stages as i dont want it to effect flavour , any suggestions? (yes i've read every bloody post/thread on this forum already ) more so asking if anyone else thinks they need nutes?

Peace :hippy: Bio

Looks delicious! What are you using to bring your h20 to the right pH levels?

biostrength
03-30-2009, 06:26 AM
Nothing actually haha they have just stayed at those levels throughout the grow? my tap water is a bit wierd as i live in an extremely old house so the waters a bit.... organic. sometimes a bit orange from rust but i always let it run until it clears up, so just tap water and mollasses? i test them usually once every few days and haven't had any problems yet.

Also added another 400w HPS on the side with a big white satellite style reflector

desperate times ....

desperate buds....

cut tooo earlyy bradda:(

but let the rest go
tha sativa will take way longer to flower for the top pot

"im expecting harvest in 4 - 6 weeks " ??

dont think so if they just started flowering, more like 8-10,or 4-6 weeks depending on "personal choice"

you are confusing me between flood-n-drain, or soil
first post say soil and the last post says f-n-d...

clear that up !and for the nutes if it is indeed soil there should be enuf built up thru tha grow that just water and mollas. should be fine and productive yet i say a nice feast for the plant is appropiate!! that is just before the last 4-3 weeks:jointsmile:

and if its f-n-d i have no f-n idea!? lolol

i play with dirt!:woohoo:

but for what she is! good job and good luck:thumbsup:

Sorry man i am a noob :stoned: lol i have no f-n idea what im talkin about

There in soil,

Under 1 600w HPS and 1 400w HPS

They have been flowering for 4 weeks

didnt know flood and drain was its own thing? haha sorry guys its cause i was flooding them with water and its been draining out...

i've been told by a uni lecturer in botany friend that they look ready in about 2 -3 weeks thats why i said that but im not sure?

about 15% of the pistils have gone brown, hope this clears things up?

Sorry again, peace :hippy:

Take a gander in the next 4 weeks, they should still be fattening up. Read up on the clear/milky/amber trics so you decided yourself, a nice harvest time. Almost everyone waits for 10-20% amber. =) no nutes and some sweet black strap molasses will provide a very nice flavour. keep it up. =)

looking pretty beautiful, are you using any kind of pestiscide treatment?

just to let you know, dont decide when to harvest based on pistal colour, you should judge by the trichomes (crystals) under a microscope or strong magnifying glass and at least wait until almost all are cloudy before harvesting.

No i haven't at all, is it going to be a problem in the later weeks? got me scared now i've kept my eye on any sort of movement but ahh should i get something?? :o

Ok just checked all trichs with a 10x magnifier .

Fortunately the one cola i did pick, which was the main of one of the plants (well it had the thickest stem going to it?) the trichs have a SLIGHT milky, amber tinge to it. Which i suppose it better then clear.

All the rest are still totally clear, which is good hopefully means alot more fatting up to come... Very exciting:dance:

Update

There growing very very well! and the test smoke was excellent so im very much anticipating the rest of the yeild. Some leaf 'yellowing' which i have just left alone & only pulled off the ones that are really dead looking, and detach easily. As i think the light benafit is better.

I'm still learning this camera, and it seems to hate my plants indoors..

All in all im very pleased with the grow so far, and any further comments would be greatly appriciated :stoned:!

Don't worry my camera doesn't like my hps either... I have to take my plants out of the closet to get any good pics...pain in the ass!

Looking forward to seeing the final product! :baggy:

Update

Had to cut the top cola off the tall one as it was getting to tall for my grow area :(:(:( . I don't even need the smoke at the moment!. So i grudgingly cut this one off to...

And a few pics while i had them out from the light for maintenance..

Ok, run into a few problems, my plants seem to be plateauing and the buds have stopped growing. The buds smell super ripe and look done, but none of the trichomes are going amber? Also on a few of the tops of the bushy plant it seems to be bleaching almost a fleuro yellow colour? i have the taller plant just as close to the light and nothings happening it's super healthy with no discolourations. But the bushy one's doing wierd shit. anyone have any idea's on this? Will post up a pic in a few hours as plants are on sleep time now.

bigtopsfinn
04-07-2009, 10:10 AM
Sounds normal to me. The plant is using up its last nutrients. With a sativa you will also have a longer harvest window, so you may be waiting for a while to see any amber. Pics would be nice, though :)

Ok good, do i keep up the same watering schedule? will get onto pics asap.

Thankyou, bio

bigtopsfinn
04-07-2009, 10:22 AM
If they stopped growing, I don't see a reason to use nutrients (if you are still using them). You could flush with properly ph'd water, and then water after that if necessary. Just my view on it... might want to check out some threads about harvesting to back this up, though. Sativa's are a little different from indicas and hybrids when it comes to harvesting.

If the better looking one is still growing, then I'd keep doing what you've been doing with her. It's a good idea to flush and use plain water for the last 2 weeks before harvest to get out all the fertilizer taste.

Yeah i have only been using water and mollases since about a week into Flowering so just sticking with that then i suppose? thanks for the help.

do not use anymore nutes the plants are almost done.. now you need to start flushing.. wait until they are completely dry before watering again... but everything is looking really good

Update

Plants going exceptionally well. Buds have just fattened alot and almost all trichomes are milky, with about 2% amber on the tall one, and no ambers on the bushy one.

Next post should hopefully be Harvest Day.

A few pre harvest buds.

I have found after i had to cut the first two cola's off the first time, the buds underneath thrived hugely so i didn't have much of a problem cutting these 2 off.
