So i know that the 3 things that degrade thc are light, heat, and oxygen exposure...but i also know that for buds to develop on the plant it needs a lot of light...so...
from what ive read, the fan leaves are what "absorb" the light, so if whoever is growing the bud was to put up some kind of shield or something over their buds so that way the buds didnt recieve light but the fan leaves still would, therefor the plant would still be absorbing light and producing bud matter, if that would help it become more potent? just an idea, ill appreciate all the feedback
does anyone know wether exposure to light while the buds are still growing degrades it or not? because if so i think this theory could work, i know its a little far fetched, but its been in my brain for a few weeks now!

I don't know how light and air degrade THCA though, as that's what is on the buds until they're cured

i understand what your asking: and my answer is no.
the fan leaves collect sunlight AND use that to convert all intake into sugars that are stored in the leaves.
when the plant flowers, these sugars are consumed and the empty leaf turns yellow and falls off -- the storange conttainer already used up.
the leaflets on the flowers need solar energy too, to keep this conversion going in the plant. light also affects the development of the trichomes. those frosty cristally lil resins.
It's AFTER the plant has been killed that the breakdown process you're talking about begins.
light, heat, oxidation are all enemies (or friends, if you're making compost) of dead organics.
store cool, (I freeze for long-term storage, which has it's own issues) dry, and dark. vacuum sealing is recommended, removing the oxygen.
