Global Warming?

So do you guys think that global warming is a myth, or if it's the real deal? I think that the earth will go through these cycles over millions and millions of years. We had the ice age, now we are where were at, then global warming..I believe that it will cycle through all these again and again..any thoughts?

I think we are polluting for sure... quite evident from the visible smog in big cities like L.A. and Beijing... However, I think the whole CO2 emissions is partly made up so they (The Man) can issue a Carbon Tax worldwide. CO2 levels rise and fall naturally, and have been recorded as being much higher than current levels thousands of years ago.

the earth is undoubtedly going through climate change, whether or not it's actually getting warmer, I'd rather not say. This is natural, fuck on planetary scale normal. However human industry has increased the pace at which this happens, will draw it out longer, and possibly intensify it.

It's a natural occurrence. The funny thing is, a lot of scientists actually believe we are at the beginning of a mini ice age rather than a warming period.

Most of the facts about global warming are bold face lies or misrepresentations in order to promote their agenda. The ice caps for instance are actually getting thicker with the exception of one that is melting.

It's all a money making attempt, they had a product (green energy) I'm talking to you Gore, but not a market. Therefor they had to create a pseudo-science in order to build demand for their products.

If your interested, read State of Fear by Michael Chricton. It is a work of fiction, but the global warming facts he uses are accurate and he provides a list of citations to back everything in the book up.

Can't say for sure if Global Warming is a man made phenomenon but the shit that comes out of the exhaust at the back of cars ain't good for us.

I think we are going into a warming period caused by man. All you have todo is look at the ice core and it will tell you that to much CO2 is being put in the environment. We should be going into a cooling period (Malinkivitch cycle) but we are not, its warming. On the flip side to much warming will stop the ocean currents which will push us into an Ice age

As a geography student for several years, I will have to call bullshit on co2 emissions as the cause of global warming.
The same way I call bullshit on the American health care system, education system, and war machine. None help the masses, just the few.

I have gone back and forth on this, from thinking it is all propaganda bullshit, to seeing evidence that the CO2 is a cause to the fact that, all believe that the Earth is on a cycle of shifting axis and that will send an all out ending to the way we live life today. Truthfully, I am swayed again in thinking, that global warming is caused buy the Physics of space and not man. And out of all the science, studies, research, what changes my mind?

The fact that Edgar Casey predicted the Earth switching axis a long time ago. I just bought a couple flights online for about â?¬280... On the final page to pay, there was a box taking up more than half the page, talking about the Co2 emissions from this flight... It said..."The price to clean up the emissions from your portion of the flight is â?¬37.62, you can donate to the blah blah blah".

For a minute, I thought they were actually gonna charge me for Co2 clean-up! Maybe they are just testing the waters, and I hope people don't accept this bullshit. :wtf::wtf::wtf:

I have been at threads like this and don't know why I glorified idiocy with a response in those cases. Here at least the thread starter seems to have an open mind, but anyone who thinks global warming is not real and not caused by man-made CO2 emissions is, well, NOT THINKING. Who do you think is pushing the BS that we aren't responsible for global warming? The Oil companies of course, Exxon-Mobil premier among them. And who stands to lose and who stands to gain by controlling Co2 emissions? The elites in "suits" you refer to, are they for solutions that make environmental sense? Of course not, they have money or they wouldn't be in suits and they want to continue polluting. Who cares if the planet becomes unliveable by 2100? All they care about is money. They are the forces behind this, if "evil" exists it's these SOB's that embody it. If we don't switch to green technologies now, and significantly reduce emissions within 10 years, there will be far more economic loss than any gain acheived by dragging our feet. Crops will fail as vast areas turn to desert, coastal cities will be flooded out of existence and billions will suffer. The rise in CO2 levels now are unprecedented for thousands if not millions of years, and started to rise dramatically after the Industrial Revolution hit high gear in 1850, and have kept skyrocketing ever since. If you see those graphs and look at REAL evidence instead of the hocus-pocus cooked up by those so-called scientists employed by the oil companies, anyone with a brain in their head and the ability to use it could plainly see the evidence and would could come to no other conclusion than that WE ARE THE CAUSE AND A BIG CAUSE. We are the major cause. we dwarf any natural emissions of CO2 except rare episodic events. Please wake up if you are one of those who believe the propaganda, the planet needs us to come to our senses fast! Oddly enough, the planet will adapt, the world will be fine in the long-term whatever we do, it is US THAT CAN'T ADAPT, it is we that are forcing our own extinction and we better wake up fast or insects or some other damn thing will run things and not us.

the earth goes form warm to cold periodically and we should currently be heading fro a cold patch ie. an ice age the last being the plestocene ...hence the anxiety and the global warming issue...the major concern I have is that as a planet we are a large experiment essentially ...and every accurate scientific comparison needs a control...we need a second earth to do this...this is impossible hence the consternation !

i've been in both cities and comparing Beijing to LA is night and day to the pollution...China and India have some of the worst air quality in many more cities than any other countries....they oppose the co2 tax and burn nothing but leaded fuels while California has the strictest emission controls on vehicles in the US and also taxes many of the businesses and is monitored by an Air Quality Control board....the most polluted day in LA is considered a "blue sky day" in Beijing! But the whole Global Warming thing is about money no different than in 1937 when Cannabis and Hemp were made illegal and "yellow journalism" sold to the people by the group who stood to profit the most!

on the lighter side...maybe Al and Tipper split up over an argument on Global warming as we have had the coldest spring in 40 years :jointsmile:

The coldest recent spring is due to the reversal of El Nino and the addition of melt water from Siberia and Alaska into the north Pacific which increased the rainfall and lowered the temps due to cloud cover. Throw in changes in the jet stream....... Do you ever look at the satellite maps and see where all the moisture is coming from??? :jointsmile:

yes i do...and NASA has reported that sun temps are also down this year over years past...that explains and debunks most of the flawed science of the extreme eco~terrorists selling the greenhouse gas theories! :smokin:
