Hello everyone, i'm just wondering what the risk is for this site being monitored by law enforcement agencies. Does anyone have any insight on this topic?? I've been thinking alot about this lately for obvious reasons.
Much appreciated:hippy:

Your location has a lot to do with it.
What state you live in, even what county. Is it a MMJ friendly state, and how are the county mounties managing with MMJ?
here in Oregon, and MMJ state, we have great cops in Portland and Multnomah county, but the bordering counties, the sheriff's are complete MMJ asshats.
do NOT grow if you are within 1000' of any school. That is a sure-fire way to get noticed and get the book thrown at you.
and, of course, keep discreet, even if you are a medical grower.

My bro in Marrion Co Oregon has had local law at his grow. He was ripped off and called them and reported the theft of his grow. Police made some security suggestions and have left him alone...this has been three years...still growing same location, green house. He treated the police with respect and it was returned....maybe the times are changing. Not all law enforcement are out to get the sick. Just be within the law!

this same story has been repeated in Oregon many times.
I had to call police for another issue here in Potland. Nothing but polite. I gave them my med card at the door (house smells :D ) and all was good.

in which case, i wouldnt be too worried about getting caught from this site....just dont post any personal information and dont post pictures which could be used to identify who you are or where you live and youll be just fine in my opinion

Police aren't going to waste their time tracking down someone growing a couple plants in their basement or attic because of what is posted on here. If you're posting your actual location and pictures of yourself with your plants then yeah, they might come after you, but if you keep the information general and don't have a bunch of pics of thousands of plants and claim them to be yours then I would assume you're fine. I've been posting here for about 2 years now and my area is not exactly cannabis friendly and I've had no trouble, but I don't sell any of what I grow and I only grow 1-4 plants at a time. The key is 1) don't grow a shit ton of plants and 2) don't sell, or at least don't advertise either of those things on here if you are. I would imagine that those are the only two things that would get the cops on your case via this site.

ok sounds good, my "project" is for personal use, i figure instead of going to some sketchy dealer every time i want some green it would be better just to grow my own. but i imagine the coppers wouldnt believe that 9 plants are for personal use....

There are other threads on this topic. Try doing a search. Be smart. Use common sense. Good Luck! :hippy:

The police won't come find you if they see that you're growing 9 plants unless you list your location and a picture of yourself because then it would be easy. They'd have to jump through a lot of hoops to come get you based on one post with no "real world" info. Besides, I, like many on here, don't even actually grow cannabis and this site is simply for role playing purposes when we're bored. I'm sure you're in the same boat as well, right?

Yes, er, that's right role play, erm, yes that's what I'm doing...... :D.
Also worth noting the difference between illegal and unlawful, where growing cannabis is illegal (statute law) but not unlawful (natural or common law), at least in the UK..........but that's another subject all together. ;)

What is up with that claim that you are role-playing? If somehow the LEO figures out your true identity from monitoring these boards there is no way that would be any kind of defense.

[I am a liar, when I said I did all this crap I was joking haha it's a LARP involving plastic statues of plants you'll never catch meee!]

This is the way I see it....
If you are man enough to grow in your home where it is illegal and post pictures and information, then you need to be man enough to handle the consequences that come with it! Also it would be a good idea to tell NO ONE, not even friends about your grow!
:D Just food for thought though! :D

Italiano715,
Thank you so much for that. Also, telling no one is also good advice...if possible.

Welcome!
Yes, as much as we would all LOVE to show everyone our beautiful ladies and show off the hard work you put in to keeping them that way. that is NOT smart what so ever.
I see it as in if you tell/show one person, then at least 2-3 people know....Then those people know who tell other people they know somebody, then it turns into 10 people. Then so on and so on until eventually your s*** got networked all from your one "friend."
Basically, all in a nut shell...Don't trust anyone as far as you can throw them!

I think it's most important that you don't tell anyone about your grow. I mean your on here asking for information. That's first ammendment I think. If you start telling/showing people your grow then you might have more risk. But I'm the cautious type.
