Well, its not an emergency, but i do need help.

My name Liz, on Thursday, about 6 pm. i got a tooth extraction, i smoked weed on Saturday about 1 pm. Today is Sunday and its kind of hurting, i'm taking pain killers, but when the pills loose effect, it kind of hurts.

Did i got an infection or am I been paranoid?.
If i got infected, what do i do?, do i just wait?, do i have to go the dentist?.

anyway, you can add me, this is my msn [email protected]

weed doesnt harbour pathogens... smoke does.. :)

ask the dentist to check your mouth for infection!! simple stuff..

if you sucked on your gums, you could have what they call a 'dry socket' ... very painful, and dangerous if infected ... 'swish' hydrogen peroxide and mouthwash around frequently, but gently, the extraction hole needs to fill up with a blood clot, until it seals over ... :smokin:

Reaper you gotta be sumthin close to a Professor. You got a good extent of knowledge farther than Mary Jane. But he is right you more than likely sucked the blood clot out the hole. You are not suppose to suck..Straws/ciggs./green/anything for bout 2-7 days. Well that is what i was told when i had wiz. theet yanked. An my cuz she was told 2-4 days when she got hers done. So i would say get some one to give you shotguns of tha dankness:rastasmoke:

Image nailed it, call your dentist on monday and tell them you drank a milkshake with a straw they will tell you your a dingdong but they have to help you which probably means a few more pain killers to get you buy till it all hardens maybe they tell you to come in and give you an antibiotic but most dentists tend to shy away from that unless its infected (doubtful).I am not a dr. I just play one on television. Good luck Peace

Take your temperature, if you have a fever, you may have an nasty infection and they come on fast: for all the previous reasons!!

Until you see the doc, do exactly as Image told you, dilute the Peroxide. Like a teaspoon to a half a cup of distilled water. You don't want to get ride of all the bacteria in your mouth or you'll have other problems!

Be Extremely Gentile, as he said!!! Slight swishing: Your socket may not be open and dry: Sometimes you just get an infection. Infections are very serious in the mouth. They may go directly to your heart. However, uncommon--it can happen.

Use edibles or shotgun and share the love!!

In the future, if you do have a fever or feel pretty sick--go directly to an ER. And say what you were told!
A difficult extraction can hurt like hell for a while. The tooth is so embedded in the bone that some 'roc' the tooth back and forth, etc. and sometimes it will even make a small chip in the jaw bone-which can also hurt like hell! I haven't had that problem, but have seen it.

Have someone look in your mouth and see if the clot is in it or not-it doesn't take a scientist for peace of mind!! It does take your dentist though!

For a dry socket they often use what is called a "blood patch" to fill the hole and hopefully, you don't have that. At any rate, you need to make sure. Follow I/R's advice and I doubt you'll get an infection. It remains a cause for concern for you. Good luck and let us know how it works out?? There is another thread about this from last summer if you know how to look this stuff up. Since you are probably up with pain anyway! PR :hippy:
