I have a few questions about cloning, any input is appreciated.
Can you clone in 24 hr light or do they need darkness to form roots???
Can plants root in 12-12? What effects would this have?
Is it okay to give clones a very mild dose of nutes? Say 1/5 strengthâ?¦

you can clone under 24 hrs or 18 hrs of light. most people recommend 24hrs. not 12/12, why? cause under 12/12 your basically telling the plant to die and to make flowers rather than veg, and since it dont have roots to carry up the nessary nutrients it will die.
its not ok to give freshly new clones any nutes, but is ok after the roots have established. the clone is putting all its enerygy into making roots and not any kind of vegetation at all. if the clone needs any kind of sustenance it will resort to eating whats available in its set of leaves you clipped(you did that cause you want the cutting to root rather than photosynthesize) in half. hope that explained a little. to get more check out some of these pro's threads about clones.
