I have a few questions about growing in soil.

Is it beneficial to keep seedlings in a humidity dome like you do clones?
Can pots have too much drainage?

Anyone have experience with Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil?
It was highly recommended but Iâ??ve heard it can burn seedlings. Is there any truth to this?

Is it okay to re-use soil? The stuffs expensive. Is there anything you have to do to it first before you use it again? (Sterilize it somehow, I donâ??t knowâ?¦)

Is there a benefit to the 18-6 light cycle or is 24 hr light better? I read something about roots growing in the dark but I donâ??t remember where. Is that correct?

Yes, you can keep seedlings in a humidity dome, a pot should come with enough holes for drainage.

i don't use fox farms, but any soil w/ nutes could burn seedlings.
Soil isn't expensive and roots only grow in the dark of course, they are buried the entire time!!!

Is it beneficial to keep seedlings in a humidity dome like you do clones? Yes you can, but it's not necessary after they've broken-ground.

Can pots have too much drainage?
Possible, yes...probable, no. Conversely, they can have too little drainage, too. Must restrict water evacuation enough to absorb into medium.

No, but I did do Miracle Grow soil for a few years. Yes it's a tad hard on seedlings and clones. But contrary to popular opinion, it's not too difficult to compensate. No fresh nutes for about 3 weeks.

Sure, and yes. Sure you can re-use, and yes there is something special you'll need to do. But from that point forward, you'll likely be chasing us down in the plant problems section, asking what's up. Make sure to remind us the soil is re-used. Tiz better to purchase fresh, especially if a newbie.

IMHO...yes. The 24/0 schedule didn't impress me, and it seemd the seedlings and clones actually grow slower and weaker. Never tried again, as 18/6 works fine. (cheaper on electricity, too)

Yes

Can pots have too much drainage?

Kinda, smaller holes are a little better, so the water takes a little longer to go through, and soil does not fall out.

No, it's not OK, there will be to much dead rotting roots.

I go with 18/6 because i heard plants can't digest more than 18 a day, and it saves juice.
